You get what you pay for

At 68 pounds per night, it is someplace to lay your head in a small room with clean sheets. Nothing more. There hasn't been an update to the rooms in this place since Queen Victoria was crowned in the 1830's. The TV gets 3 stations. The internet access costs 15 pounds a day. You get one (small) bar of soap that lasts one shower to last you for your stay. However, it is in a convenient area of the city. There are no bugs. As I said the sheets are clean. The mattress is old. The floor is stained. The place is pretty quiet...at least the rooms in the back are. The shower stall is 18 inches by 18 inches. The sink is 6 inches by 8 inches. If you are a normal sized human, you'll get by. If you are American Mid-west/South sized then you won't fit. The buffet continental breakfast is satisfactory for 7 dollars. Essentially if you want more than that you'll have to pay a lot more in London. If you can get by on the minimum, then this place will do the trick.

5 minutes from Tube Station

The staff were friendly and helpful. The halls to rooms very narrow. My room was in the basement with a window looking onto an adjacent wall. For one or two nights it was acceptable with easy access to tube stations.

Meeting Friends

The hotel has a great location near two tube stops. Room was typical European in size, but apportioned well. My only downside to the room is that it didn't have air conditioning, then again in the UK one doesn't really need it. It would have been nice though. The hallways are small (and the elevator), but again that is typical in European hotels. Hotel staff was courteous, bed was comfortable, and room was clean. Food around hotel was Eastern European and Asian, and quite plentiful. Other food is just a a tube stop away. I thought paying for internet was a bit expensive.

Small & Simple

Great value and good location! The room was very small but had everything needed except AC. The room felt cramped and hot with little ventilation. The fan provided didn't do much. Paying for breakfast, although a very nice dinning area, was not necessary as there was a cute little cafe just around the corner that serves a full English breakfast for a great deal. I wouldn't want to spend anymore time in the room than needed but it was a great deal for location and much better than doing the hostel route when traveling with more than one person.

Overpriced & Claustrophobic

Even by expensive London prices this hotel was highly overpriced compared to others in class and location. Rooms are very small and bathrooms at best tiny and hard to move around in. But most seriously corridors leading to rooms and public spaces very narrow, less than 1 meter wide. Consequently I would be very worried about being able to find my way out quickly should a fire or some other event require and emergency evacuation. The only elevator is the smallest I've ever seen with barely enough room for 2 people and a single carryon bag each. Absolutely the hotel would not meet any accessibility requirements stipulated by the Americans with Disabilities standards. If you have any tendencies toward claustrophobia this hotel will stress you out. The only thing positive about the hotel was that staff was friendly, helpful and conducted themselves in a professional manner.

Very small room. Very small bathroom

Very small room. Very small bathroom and lots of noise from the pipes (from other rooms). I was given a room at groundfloor. Not recommend. Ask for room further up the floors. The staff started very early and they were noisy! Breakfast was ok, but service slow.

Had a 1st floor room facing the

Had a 1st floor room facing the street. Not much traffic so quiet enough. Wouldn't want a room opposite the elevator. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Location was good being close to two subway stations, pubs and restaurants and a good walk throught Kensington Gardens to the West End. No free Wifi though. Considering the prices in London, seems to be reasonable value for money. Would stay there again.

Very near to the Underground station.

Very near to the Underground station. Convenient stores, restaurants around close very late at night. The room is very basic but clean. Keeping luggage in their hotel is chargeable (50p each). This is the first time I've seen hotel do like this.
