Served it's purpose

We were staying 2 nights in London on vacation before we went out into the country. It was in a great location, easy to find. Just around the corner from the Gloucester road station. The staff was friendly enough. Not in your face with fake kindness. They were very polite and down to business. The room was tiny. Was a simple double bed room. The bed took up most of the room so it was a bit awkward. Honestly, anyone travelling to the uk should understand a lot of hotels are old buildings converted into hotels. So I wasn't that surprised it was small. The bed was comfortable. The room was VERY clean. Everything was modern and updated...just small. You're just there to sleep so it was perfect essentially. They have a gym, a bar, breakfast etc. Lots of food places and pubs near by and open late so I really thought it was a great choice.

Vacation with daughter

This hotel has a great location right around the corner from Gloucester Road Station. Which by the way, has Piccadilly line trains that go to Heathrow. There is a grocery store, Waitrose, across the street but it is more expensive than a Tescos. I see the prices for this hotel and can't believe it because I wouldn't pay that much for this place. I got a great deal and thus stayed. If I didn't get a deal I would find another hotel. Overall, the rooms are small as is the norm in London but it was comfortable. The bathroom was nice. The room also had a safe which was great. Really just another place to stay if your just going to be sleeping there. Also, there is a bus stop outside the front door which will take you all the way down Oxford Street. I would stay again if I got a deal.

Clean, great location

I just spent two nights at the Cromwell on a business trip to London. Hotel was extremely well-located and quiet, only a block from the Gloucester Rd. underground station on the Picadilly Line (you can take the tube straight there from Heathrow in less than an hour.) It's also not far from Hyde Park, which is terrific for runners. Room was extremely small, even for one petite person, but it was impeccably clean. Bathroom was small but nicely appointed. Staff was very nice and accommodating, and stored my bag at no charge for the first day since I arrived well before check-in time and needed to head right out for meetings. There was a hairdryer and working tv, though remote was kind of grimy so I had to sanitize it.

Great Location near Metro

This hotel is only 3-4 minute walk from the Glaucaster Metro stop, making it a super convinient location. It is also a 15 minute walk to the super hip areas Chelsea and Notting Hill where there are a lot of other pubs. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room and bathroom were really clean.

Wonderful Location

Our room was very convenient, well maintained, and cleaned on time each day. The bathroom facilities were a welcome upgraded change from other local hotels in the area. However, the size of our overall room was somewhat limited (European expectation not what is expected usually in the West) and we may consider other options for our next visit. Also, the exercise room could use some customer towels/wipes for use with the weights and other equipment from person to person to keep it clean and maintained. Overall, the location is the primary benefit here we could get to where we wanted to go with ease near the Gloucester Road station. I would recommend that the hotel management continue to consider how to improve this facility in the form of exceptional customer service through additional offerings by the staff. They did not do anything "beyond the ordinary" to indicate a commitment to us as a customer....the brick and mortar of the facility are not sufficient/enough in and of themselves to get people like us to return over and over again. You need to engage your staff more in linking them to your customers justify any form of exceptional service.

Awesome family trip

This was a really good hotel for the money. Very close to the city, many nearby tube and train stations for easy traveling. Lovely, charming neighborhood. Hotel staff were wonderful and accomodating. Rooms are small but that is to be expected in London. Overall great experience. Would definitely recommend.

Great for a London Homebase

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Cromwell for our honeymoon trip to London and we had a blast. My first positive experience was when I asked the hotel to get some roses and champagne for her before we entered the hotel room, which they were more than willing to help with and my wife was more than surprised. The room was very clean and pretty comfortable. The room and bed was a bit smaller than I had anticipated (I am 6 feet tall) but after we unpacked, I hardly noticed it at all. I enjoyed the room with the balcony, however, we sat outside once. I would probably not get a room with a balcony again since we were there to explore London and not look at the buildings surrounding us. It wasn't much of a view anyway as we mostly just saw the buildings around us. I loved how close the hotel was to the Gloucester Tube station and a few other awesome areas. The National history museum for kids, High Street Kennsington for shopping, and pubs were all right by the hotel which made it feel very comfortable. Overall it was a great place to stay. I may or may not stay there again because of the room size however, I was impressed by their hospitality, location and cleanliness. Also if you are an international traveler, the free wifi was very helpful too.

Decent, clean but nothing spectacular or special for a 4star

I stayed at the hotel for 5 days. I had a clean room - clean bed and bathroom - basics for my stay. The hotel was conveniently across the street from the underground and the grocery store. This was clearly not a 4star hotel however - maybe 2. - Bed was stiff/hard; furniture was cracking/peeling. - Room was so small with a double bed; I was single but couldn't imagine another person sharing the room - TV only had 6-7 stations, BBC sports was not clear - No fridge in the bedrooms - Prices includes Free Wifi in rooms; I could barely get a connection, the coverage was so spotty. The best coverage was in the lobby. The reception's response to my issue "try turning your phone on/off". - Customer Service by their Reception staff was almost non-existent. I arrived at 1AM with 2 heavy bags; the staff barely looked up as I walked in with no offer to help. Everytime I came into the lobby there was no acknowledgement - no Good Morning, hello etc. to their guest. And when I finally checked out and needed to get outside to catch a taxi, again no help or assistance with the bags or offer to help with a taxi. Plus they couldn't provide accurate information about getting to the airport. If this is a 4 Star Hotel, then I expect 4 star service and luxuries. Instead this is a basic clean 2 star hotel and expect nothing else.
