Area description
The Apex Temple Court Hotel occupies the site of one of the historic Serjeants' Inns which housed on order of barrister's known as the Serjeants-at-Law. The last record of the Serjeants-at-Law here dates from their departure in 1730. Buildings on the site have changed over the years: the Great Fire of London destroyed the original Inn in 1666. After the Serjeants left, the rebuilt Inn had a number of uses until it was bombed during the Second World War. The current post-war Neo-Georgian building was largely used as offices until being redeveloped as the four star Apex Temple Court Hotel in 2012. The courtyard at Apex Temple Court leads from the Inner Temple onto the famous Fleet Street, the historical home of London's newspaper industry.

Dining

Chambers Lounge and Bar
A feature fireplace creates the main focus with surrounding slatted timber walls, dark metallic wallcoverings and a slate brick chimneypiece adding to a cosey atmosphere. Large oak framed windows are partly screened by decorative shutters. The bar is sculpted out of a heavily grained black and gold marble. Contemporary wingback chairs run along a carpeted area at the lower windows with floor lamps providing the low-level lighting and atmosphere.
Chambers Restaurant
An intimate space, with a fully screened window in a decorative motif at the rear of the room. Specially designed 'candle' lanterns fit between oak slats at varying heights and enhance the dining experience. The restaurant is defined by a full-length oak banquet seat, which breaks and continues in the adjacent brasserie. This room can be fully enclosed using folding doors at the entrance to allow for private dining and parties.

Good location, larger rooms for London hotels

Went for Superior Double on upper floor facing inside courtyard (recommended as totally quiet) - especially good value at weekends as chiefly a business hotels as so near the High Court. If walking or happy to use buses (do so - they are great) the location is perfect for both West End and South Bank. One of our better London hotel experiences and would return.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

The preserved Georgian house of Samuel Pepys - the famous London diarist and author of the first proper English Dictionary - is a very short walk away up and ally on the other side of Fleet Street (signed). Well worth exploring for an hour or two if you like your history - and if you have a National Trust card you get a discount on entry.

London theatre weekend

Great time had at the Apex temple court - the service of the staff is really good, they are attentive and will do anything for you. Breakfast was really good, and the beds are so comfortable! We took my wife's parents here for a weekend visit to London and the location was perfect to walk to the West end theatres.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

The West End Theatres are just a 10 minute walk from this hotel, so great if you've got tickets to a show. Also great location for other London attractions.

Beautiful hotel in central location

Stayed 6 nights over Christmas. Had bar food the first night which was decent but overpriced. Christmas Day dinner again was nice although nothing special. We didn't have breakfast any morning so can't comment on it. The room itself was very quiet and comfortable, with an amazing mattress. The spa-like bathroom was really clean and enjoyable. Room was thoroughly cleaned by staff every day, within minutes of being out the door. The staff were very discrete but always available, which suited us perfectly.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

If planning to have food outside the hotel, you might want to check the opening days and hours as this hotel is outside the main tourist areas and many restaurants and bars only seem to suit office days/times.
