VERY HIGH CLASS HOTEL.
A LITTLE ON THE COSTLY SIDE IF A VACATION TRAVELER AND YOU ARE NOT IN ROOM OTHER THAN JUST TO SLEEP AND TOURING LONDON ALL DAY. SKIP THE BREAKFAST. RIDICULOUS PRICE CHARGED FOR COFFEE AND FRUIT. THIS IS AN EXPENSE ACCOUNT HOTEL. "THE DONALD" WOULD APPROVE.

Great Experience in a great place
I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 2 kids for one week. Everything was excellent. Upon our arrival, they sent us straight to have breakfast since we were starving and the staff came to us to do our check in. They also realized we were very tired having flown during the night plus a 5-hour time difference so they gave us a room to rest while our room was getting ready. When we got our apartment on the second floor, my husband didn't like the lack of a view and they upgraded us to another one on the third floor with a great view of the St. James Court. Our apartment was great: 3 bedrooms, living room and a full kitchen with a Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, washing/dryer machine. The hotel location is great: 2 min walk from the Buckingham Palace, 2 min from an Underground station, less than 10 min walk to the Westminster Abbey and Parliament. The staff could not be better. They made us feel like we were staying at a friend's house. The only reason why I gave a 4-star to Amenities was because in my apartment there was not an electrical outlet in any of the bathrooms which made it difficult when I needed to blow dry my hair and would make it hard for a man using an electrical shaver. But this would never prevent me from going back again and again.

Wonderful Hotel and Location
Wonderful Hotel and even better location. Right next to Buckingham Palace, about a 8 minute walk to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and London Eye and very close to both St. James and Victoria subway stations, so getting around very easy. Our room was on 1st Floor and only problem was their was construction of a new building across street and also some light construction outside of our room where they were repairing the elevator. We were in a suite that was nice but don't know if I would call it 5 star. I am in Paris right now and we are in a true 5 star Suite that 51 Buckingham doesn't compare to. I'd give it 4.5 though. They do have a 6:30 - 8:30 happy hour where drinks are included, which was very nice. Hotel staff and concierge were very nice and had no issues with service, except for a brief miscommunication at check-in with another person with same last name. Could happen to anyone. Overall 4.5 stars and would recommend.

Outstanding in every way!
My family stayed in a 2-bedroom suite that also included 2 baths and even a kitchen. Everything was just perfect. The service just couldn't have been better, from the minute we arrived until we checked out. The staff just bent over backwards to accommodate any request, but they even seemed to anticipate our needs before we had to make a request. An example: I arrived with a slight medical problem (turned out to be nothing). The concierge brought up to our room a "home remedy" that her grandma used in the past! How sweet is that? Rooms were spotless and well-stocked. We were welcomed with a plate of fresh fruit as well as fresh flowers in the room. There was plenty of FREE bottled water in the room (when does that ever happen these days?). We loved and appreciated every single minute of our stay at the Taj. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in London.
