Nice big room and good location

Pros: Good location and the room we had was huge. We got the double standard room with one double bed and one single. Excellent wifi connection even if we were on the 5th floor. Not stingy with their complimentary toiletries. Pillows were soft. Con: Our room was near the lift and it was so noisy especially it was a friday night. The bed was not that soft. We had backache the next morning. The TV was really small and placed so far from the bed considering that the room is massive. It felt like looking at a laptop.

My stay the adelphi hotel

On arrival had to wait 20 minutes for my booking to come through on their system then we got in the tin lifts which sounded like they was falling apart. When coming out the lift it was a maze to get to the room with a horrid old people smell lingering on the corridors. First of all the room was tiny not big enough to swing a cat and very under character, we was told we had a double room which was two single beds pushed together the furniture was very old fashioned and the noise from the other guests at early hours in the morning we could hear banging doors etc. I was very let down from my stay. Therefore I will not be returning to this hotel.

not value for money!

We arrived at the hotel from the outside looked really nice posh even! NO! when we got to our room it was awful dirty outdate carpets had come up, furniture was broken. we asked at reception to change rooms, no apology just all the rooms are the same and when we mentioned how much we paid was told its because of the football! not my problem! £250 for 2 nights rip off. we got moved to another room which was abit better but was dirty and and again in need of refurbishment will never stay at this hotel ever again! worst hotel i ever stayed in!

Liverpool stay

The best thing about the Adelphi Hotel was it's location. The hotel is tried and we were not that impressed. We had a very queue on check in and had to ask questions as we were not going to be told anything . Our room wasn't ready as the cleaner was in and it wasn't cleaned at all on the second day. We felt it needed a shake up. Great location for seeing Liverpool Centre and docklands.

Great room.

I read a few reviews and they were very mixed so I wasn't sure what to expect. My room was however fantastic. The only issue was I couldn't open a window and it got a bit too warm in the room at night as there was no aircon either. Walking to my room felt like being in the hotel in The Shining with long vast corridors and high ceilings - I would definitely come back here and gladly recommend it. At least MY room was great, didn't see any of the others.

Good Weekend Break

This is a fantastic Hotel full of history & magnificent architecture, throughout. It needs updating, furniture replaced in the rather 'Grand Seating Area' of the Ballroom, which unfortunately was ripped & torn. You wouldn't want to modernise this Hotel, but it does need decorating & the rooms were not as clean as you would expect. Our bathroom definitely needed an 'overhaul' ie., decorating & bath re-enamelled, but you wouldn't want to modernise, as would spoil the in-keeping character of the Hotel. The staff were extremely friendly, & this is a 'Good Hotel' for short breaks.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

The Hotel was in short walking distance of the famous 'Cavern Pub' and there are various restaurants & clubs very close by. You are also not very far form the 'Albert Docks' and the Cathedrals & Museums. Oh and of course Shopping!!

Good value... needs updating

The hotel was pleasant enough and a good value, just in need of updating. Aside from enhancements to the bathroom, it seems the room had had no improvements in a generation...

Great location in the heart of Liverpool

We got a bargain price so very happy with that? If paying full price you can stay somewhere a lot better. Definitely in need of a refurb and restoration of some of the lovely old features. Room size very big as was the bathroom. Shower over bath very powerful and lots of hot water but you had to hold the shower as no hanger!

Central location - but that's it !

Very friendly helpful reception staff, just as well because first room was like stuffy oven beside the lift shaft and there was still a dirty towel on the bedroom floor. Changed to second room where the bathroom light didn't work and no hot water. Third room was clean and had heat and light ! But the whole place was like stepping back in time and needs considerable money spent. What a shame when it is so central
