Built around an old flour mill, and managed around traditional values, BEST WESTERN The Watermill Hotel offers panoramic views of the River Bulbourne, which meanders near the property. While you are here, you will enjoy the benefits of a serene, old world outpost, and the opportunity to escape the bustling modern day life of the city. Yet, thanks to our close proximity to Hemel Hempstead's industrial and commercial centres, you will still have the reassurance of convenience in the country! Our 71 tastefully appointed rooms (some with a breathtaking view of the lush green meadows) will leave you laid back and care-free during your time here. And when it's time to treat your taste buds, the Riverside Restaurant offers imaginative cuisine complemented by a carefully selected wine list. Here's to you! Open every morning for breakfast, our restaurant also serves a variety of snack menus throughout the public areas, including the decking area which directly overlooks the river and the meadows 19 miles away, you will find Windsor castle, for more fantastic scenery!

Could do better...

The good bit... Good location. Carpets and decoration are good. Deck outside bar very nice with good view over the river - probably a good venue for a wedding. Good biscuits with tea/coffee making equipment. The indifferent bit... Rooms rather small, reception staff a bit pushy when told no extras were wanted (breakfasts etc) The bad bit... Radiator in bathroom so hot and close to toilet you have to sit across the toilet to prevent seriously burning your legs. Toilet constantly overflowing so loud you can hear it all the time. TV reception poor so that only about 5 channels were watchable. Internet reception non-existent - unable to even logon. No ironing board or iron in room. Parking roped off for a party - visitors treated in preference to guests. Conclusion... Clean, cheap accommodation close to the center of Hemel Hempstead. There are better value hotels within 2 miles of this one...I personally wouldn't return as a guest, but would eat at the bar as a visitor.

Good location for getting back

Good location for getting back to the M25 J20, just 5 mins. Pleasent hotel with a nice pub opposite with good food offering at reasonable prices. Some of the rooms are a bit tired but ask for one at the rear of the hotel they are better particularly the family rooms and quieter. Good value, would say again

I got this room at an amazing

I got this room at an amazing price of £39.90 (normally 135.00) for a double room. Everything was perfect for our short stay. One word of warning though. If you just fancy a quiet pub drink, there are two directly across the road, The White Horse which is very expensive and food orientated, and The Anchor next door (literally), which is a proper friendly, locals pub. The hotel bar though is also very good.
