StayCity - London Heathrow Apartments

It needs to be emphasized that this is NOT a hotel, it is a furnished apartment with linens. We stayed here our last night before leaving the UK via Heathrow. StayCity was very difficult for the cab to locate. It is in a bank of matching buildings and not the one closest to the road. Signs were small. We went in through a gated garage, and eventually found a small door leading to the elevator to the lobby There are NO hotel like amenities. No one to help with bags, no restaurant or room service. We came in late with a hungry child so the fact that the only food was a vending machine was a problem. The apartments have kitchens. And there is a Tesco grocery store downstairs but we did not discover this until morning. The photos are misleading. The lobby photo is not of the London Heathrow location. There is no pool on site. Further more, when I looked up the health club that we could have privileges at, stated to be a 5 minute walk, the pool there was NOT the one pictured. Decor was clean and modern but a little too much so. Apartment felt sterile and almost cell like. Complex is right next to a train station. I was pleasantly surprised I did not hear the trains go buy. It was okay. But I have stayed in other apartment hotels which did have hotel typical amenities, so this was a disappointing end to a fabulous trip.

this is a good hotel if you are staying a while - it has a kitchen and nice bed. BUT they want you to clean up after yourself INCLUDING throwing away your garbage at the end of your stay. They also put a 200 pound ($318) hold on your card - as a room deposit. There are no real places to eat or go to from there, you must take a train or bus to somewhere where the restaurants and shopping is located. online it lists this as a shuttle from airport hotel - but there is not shuttle service you must pay for a cab or train or bus from the airport.

We stayed here 4 nights. The staff was friendly and very helpful; offered for us to e-mail our tickets to be printed, for example. We got a much better price on through a travel site than directly through the place's website. They wouldn't match it as advertised so we booked through the other website as advised. The place seemed a bit new and not quite in the motions yet. The lights were out on an elevator, our bathroom had a slow (clean) water leak, you have to ask for more tp (free) since they don't service the room while you're there, and we had to ask for the fob to get into the building on our own. The quality of the room was a little below a 4 star at a price well below one. Everything was nice enough and the kitchen was very-well stocked. It worked out really well being able to eat breakfast and prepare a lunch every day, saving us a lot of $$$ in an expensive city.

"It is not a hotel" was the answer at the reception desk. They advertized complimentary tea/coffee in the room and when asked next morning they refused. No room service, no telephone, no help to carry your luggage if you are old or women and the elevator does not work and you have to carry your luggage 28 steps up and the the place is far away from the main road. You carry your trash to ground floor and you have to pay if you want your room cleaned. NEEDS A LOT TO MAKE CONFORTABLE STAY FOR GUESTS

This hotel was very convenient to Heathrow airport - great for a stopover between flights. Its very close to a train station that goes to Central London or Heathrow Airport. The place is very new with extremely clean rooms. The only downside was that when I asked about the airport shuttle, I was directed to the train - Not exactly what I expected. Overall, a good place. Would also be a good base for a longer stay in London as well.

this was a great hotel. The front desk staff were really nice and helpful, even though i checked in during the middle of the night. Convenient to the train and Heathrow airports.

The receptionist Curtis was very helpful! I flew into London on an overnight transit flight and was clueless in the Hayes neighborhood! Curtis took his time to show me some of the amenities and to tell me what's happening in the neighborhood! My room was also super clean and very comfortable ! I will travel o London again and StayCity is where I will check in!!!

I stayed a total of 3 nights at StayCity during a recent trip to England. It was very close to the airport & sits right on top of the Hayes & Harlington train stop, so location is one of the only things the place has going for it. The place looks nice & new and cleanliness did not seem to be much of a problem, aside from the fact that housekeeping did not attend to my room during my first stay of 2 nights. I'm pretty low-maintenance and was travelling alone, so this wasn't a big deal, but with a larger party or someone that needs a tidy room each day, this could be troublesome. The place doesn't offer much in terms of amenities. There's not even vending machines if you want a late night snack or bottle of water (so bring your own water or you're drinking from the faucet). The beds were not terribly comfortable (two twins pushed together for a double), power situation was confusing (you have to leave one of your room keys in a slot by the door, but nobody will tell you this in advance) and it's not only going to be hard for you to find the building & entrance, but you'll be hard pressed to get food delivered to the place because they can't find it either. The bathrooms are designed in a strange way and in at least one room, there was no way to take a shower without a good deal of water running off to the floor. Stylistically, it looked nice, but left me scratching my head as to how it could be deemed safe. The towel warmers are an added bonus, but plan on turning them on about 4 hours before you'll actually use them. They bill the place as apartments, which would make sense, as you're on your own when it comes to providing a majority of basic things you might need while staying at a hotel. The price seemed pretty good compared to other places in the area, but if I find myself needing a hotel near Heathrow again, I'll be willing to spend the extra money for something more accommodating. Also, they offer free wi-fi, but only through a code that is good for 24 hours, so you have to keep going to the front desk for a new code. Kind of a pain & seems like something they could easily fix with longer access or actually distributing the codes under your door, via email or some other way in advance.

Friendly, helpful staff - though still finding their feet after Summer opening. Studio booked was double booked and upgraded us to Deluxe Apartment. Clean but kitchen tap was very loose, windows cannot be opened and temperature of air conditioning could only be moved a few degrees. Handy for Heathrow and central London connections. Make sure you ask for a key fob to get into the complex at night as its based in a residential appartment block and you could end up locked out!! Overall we would recommend.

Ons 5 daagse verblijf is uitstekend bevallen. Wat een geweldige locatie. Vanaf Heathrow éénvoudig te bereiken met trein en geen gedoe met kind en koffers in metro. Dagen erna met trein (travelcard) naar Paddington station. Vandaar uit kun je overal makkelijk komen. Het fijne aan dit appartement is dat je met kind(eren) de vrijheid hebt van een eigen huisje met alle gemakken voorzien. Verwacht dus geen hotelfaciliteiten. Supermarkt Tesco om de hoek, treinstation naast de deur wat wil je nog meer. Appartement was schoon en ruim. Evt problemen werden snel opgelost. Je moet idd een hek door om bij je appartement te komen maar vonden dit alleen maar fijn omdat er dus geen onbevoegden op het terrein konden komen. Houd er rekening mee dat er bij het inchecken een borg van 200 pond gevraagd wordt. Dit is veel geld maar het is terug te vinden in de voorwaarden. Eén ding is zeker wij komen hier zeker bij een volgend bezoek aan Londen weer terug. De ligging, prijs/kwaliteit zijn het meer dan waard
