Great location, old building

The hotel was undergoing renovations so the front was covered with scaffolding. Our room was located on the 1st floor in the back so it faced the train station. This made for a surreal, not unpleasant view, but unpleasant train (and Burger King) odors when the windows were open. However we did have access to the ScotRail free wifi, even though you had to be near the window (but it saved us 5 pounds/day on the hotel's wifi, which appeared to have maxed out on users one morning anyway). The room was comfortable overall, if not a little warm with the down bedding, but the bed pillows were like sleeping on rocks. Great deal considering the ideal location and attractive hotel decor (the room decor was a bit worn, but not unattractive). Remarkably quiet with regard to other guests next door/across the hall. Pleasant staff.

Lovely hotel. Great location.

Lovely room . Huge bathroom. Friendly staff. Only problem was we were allocated a double room instead of twin. It was quickly changed but the early wake up call they wrote down on check in did not materialise and I am guessing the occupants of our original room received it .Could have been bad except our alarm woke us luckily.

Served its Purpose

Hotel is very dated and desperately needs upgrading ! Although it was clean you would have thought you were stuck in the 60s or in an old folks home !! Location was the only plus point here !!

Really poor value for money

We were here for a wedding and were put on the 4th floor with a view of the back of the train station. There was a constant hum from something and you can hear the announcements from the train station. The room was fairly clean, but the décor is really really tired and positively scruffy in the corridor with dirty carpets in the doorways. The breakfast was average canteen food. Overall there was nothing that totally ruined our stay, but it's not worth the money at all and i wouldn't recommend it.

Perfect for the central Glasgow

Hotel well placed and very clean the outside looks likes it could do with a lick of paint, that the only thing that lets it down. Every time we have stayed the rooms have been very hot and the toilets in the reception area are extremely hot it was likea sauna.

Needs a revamp

Great Location if you are travelling by train (Queen St station is next door) or if you want to be in the centre of things. I had a room in the old section at the back which was comfortable but was very tired and well used. Towels were fabulous! Thick and big. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Food was okay.

weekend away with friends

it was a super wee break and all was pretty good. staff were excellent, location great, breakfast lovely. i have no real complaints or issues which reduced it from perfect to very good only that I have stayed in much more glamarous locations throughout the World and it's tough to compare with some. Value for money though, so well done the Millenium

Very utilitarian.

The hotel hasn't been renovated in a while but everythings kept very clean. The staff were nice and kept our luggage for the entire day. They only allow 4 towels per room which I though was weird even when i explained that we needed them as we wanted to shower before dinner, bed and in the morning as we had a long day of travel. Its in an extremely central place within the city. Good for taking the trains and shopping. However in the morning we could hear the announcer from the train station which woke us up. This hotel is very utilitarian. Dont expect any extras for free.
