While the location of the hotel was great, there were some areas of disappointment: Shuttle from Hotel to Airport. The hotel website says that there is a shuttle every 30 min hotel. This is true, the problem is that it is on a 1st come, 1st serve basis. So, if there are 6 people or more going to the airport at the same time (a likely scenario given the 114 rooms), you will need to get a cab which is $9 British pounds. The hotel manager said that everyone knows that. Well, not everybody, especially when you are coming from 4000 miles away. This is NOT stated on their site. Internet Service The website says that there are wireless services in all the rooms. This is not completely true; the 5th floor does not have wireless access due to signal issues. Since I was there on business, this was important, so I had to request a room change which the manager (already angry about my shuttle comments) reluctantly did. Check In It took forever to check in. There were 2 very friendly people at the front desk, but they seemed new at it and got to be frustrating waiting for so long. A couple of customers were wrestles, so the manager had to come out and help. Luckily, I got him and I was able to point out the discrepancies. Pick up from the airport was easy, 24 bar service was great, rooms were clean, and they did call me for a wake up call.

Room small but clean. Tea and coffee making facilities . In these day and age, free wifi would be welcomed-by all, especially when there is nothing to do in the hotel once you checked in. The charge of £3 an hr is rather expensive.

Does what it says on the tin! Clean friendly quiet good value

My husband and I had a 15 hour layover at Gatwick and needed a hotel room close to the airport. The Ibis fit the bill. The rooms were small, well-appointed and comfortable. The decor is very modern and unlike any other hotel I've ever stayed in. They have a shuttle van that can take you to and from the airport. Breakfast was nothing special, but certainly less expensive than breakfast in the airport. For dinner we walked next door to this great little pub which I would recommend.

Late check in, so didn't try the food. Room small, but clean and modern. Very comfortable. Good price for Gatwick. Not far from airport. Three pounds for shuttle bus. Will stay there again. Only complaint was all the smokers around the front door (at 7am). Yuk!

Hotel close to Gatwick airport......shuttle car available......staff friendly

The hotel was fine. The air conditioning worked (essential on a hot day). The only glitch is the barrier access to the car park; its not lit up so at night it is difficult to see the correct button on the access panel. Counter staff were very helpful and came out to sort the problem

For the price I was well impressed with the Ibis London Gatwick Airport. Courteous staff, spotless rooms. I would certainly use this hotel again

A very comfortable and well priced stay. I did not meet a single British member of staff and I think individual country's approaches to customer service had a marked effect on how you were treated. The bar person told me I could not have dinner because it was too late. I told her it was not 10:00pm yet. She said "it was near enough" . It is either dinner until 10 or it is not! The internet TV was a failure. The resolution of the channel was not good enough to enable you to clearly read text and the screen alignment meant you were trying ti click the mouse pointer where you couldn't see it. You had to be reasonably far away from the screen to use the keyboard but then you couldn't read anything. Apart from the above, I would definitely stay there again particularly at the prices I paid. I would also recommend the food there as it is high quality and very reasonably priced.
