The best part of this hotel is the setting. Stunning views and very peaceful. Rooms were very good, as was the restaurant. Staff generally good apart from one of the receptionists who wasn't very friendly. I would certainly return here.
Hard to find but beautiful spot and building once we were there. Up two-and-a-half flights of stairs to our room, with no elevator, but staff were very helpful with suitcases. Room wasn't totally clean. Bed was incredibly hard. Lovely view from
window. We hadn't realized that breakfast was not included in the price. Maybe our mistake, but the £10 per person per breakfast bill on checking out was a bit of a sticker shock. Nowhere near enough to walk for alternative breakfasts, so a bit trapped. But great location in relation to tourist areas like Dartmoor and Exeter.
We had trouble finding this hotel. We drove down lots of single track lanes and had to reverse back a couple of times. Stopped to ask someone if they knew where the hotel was and he stated "I wish I had a pound for every time I have been asked
that question". We eventually found it and were pleasantly surprised. The view was fantastic and the rooms were very comfortable. We had a lovely meal in the dining room and discovered that breakfast was included in the price. Excellent value!!!
