The West End Hotel Rooms
- Double / Twin
- Room with double or twin bed decorated in warm tones of cream and plum, with crisp white linen and towels and original artworks. Room has tea and coffee making facilities and a flat screen television. Other amenities in the room are bathroom amenities, ensuite / private bathroom, hairdryer, heating, kettle and telephone. Non-smoking rooms. Please advise if you require the room to be made as a twin with 2 single beds or a double with 1 double bed. If we have not received a request, rooms will be allocated subject to availability on the day of arrival.

A Good Traveling Stop
The staff at the West End was especially helpful, particularly when it came to bringing our bags up to our third floor room - as the historic house can't have a lift. However, the fact that it is in a beautiful historic Victorian house - and our room had a view of Edinburgh Castle - made up for the inconvenience of all stairs. Also, we appreciated the laundry services and other utilities that came with it being part youth hostel - though being part youth hostel came as a surprise. Overall good and good value.

The staff couldn't have been more friendly or more helpful! The room was very clean and comfortable and was very good value for money. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this hotel again!

Decent, Basic almost city centre
Decent, Basic almost city centre hotel, within easy walking distance of the west end and suitable for those on a budget. It was only let down by the room service, our room wasnt serviced over the 3 days we styed there. On two days in a row - The beds WERE straightened, but the dirty/wet towels were left on the floor, there was NO toilet roll and used cups were left on the dresser. Why would someone come in and NOT service the whole room ?

Mein Zimmer war ein Doppelzimmer,
Mein Zimmer war ein Doppelzimmer, aber für zwei Personen wäre es zu klein gewesen. Es war absolut sauber, allerdings konnte ich nicht feststellen, dass mein Bad während meiner vier Tage dort einmal gesäubert wurde. Sogar die auszuwechselnden Handtücher, die ich in die Dusche gelegt hatte, lagen am Abend noch dort, obwohl das Bett gemacht war. Die Leute im Hotel waren ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit, allerdings war nachts niemand da (nur für dringende Notfälle gab es eine Telefonnummer, die man anrufen konnte) und da es im Hotel auch Mehrbettzimmer gibt, die vor allem durch Jugendliche genutzt werden, die spät in der Nacht zurückkommen und dann in den Gängen kichern und sich laut unterhalten, kann man niemanden bitten, für Ordnung zu sorgen.
