Knights Residence

We rented a one-bedroom apartment which was small but well laid-out. It had all the amenities that we needed- well equipped kitchen, a washer dryer, televisions in the master bedroom and the living room, nice bathroom with robes provided., dining table and chairs, good location to tourists sites and wonderful concierge staff.

You're going to love this place

We were greeted by the friendly staff and given a tour of our apartment. Their was nothing they had not thought of. The apartment was comfortable and inviting. The staff had even gone grocery shopping and had stocked our refrigerator with milk, juice, butter. And provided a basket filled with cereals and a loaf of bread as well as coffee, tea and sugar. Kevin and Christopher are fabulous, they are their to help in any way they can. Whether you need a cab or advice on what to see or do during your stay in Edinburgh they are their to help. The Apartment is immaculent and modern. The beds comfy. Our stay here was perfect!

Visit the Roseleaf bar/cafe. This is a comfortable little pub. Very authentic. We had been told they have amazing desserts. When we arrived it was quite late and they had stopped serving food. When the barmaid heard we had made a special trip by taxi because we had heard about their wonderful deserts, she asked the cook if he could prepare something for us. And he did! And yes it was fantastic! Many different types of tea to choose from as well as some interesting cocktails.

Location and comfort

Walked to the Castle and to the fun Grassmarket area. My sister and I loved having tea and breakfast in our own comfy apartment. Off street parking and helpful staff were great amenities, too.

I would stay there again!

This was our second trip to Edinburgh and Knight Residence was absolutly the best choice. We were here visiting our son who is attending the University of Edinburgh and it was just like being at home! I, as a mom, was able to cook some of his favorite meals that he misses with the fully equipped kitchen. I can't say enough about how helpful the staff and the maid service was to us. I would definately recommend this wonderful place to anyone!

FANTASTIC Place

Even before we had completed our booking [...] The Knight Residence had contacted me to verify some info and to answer some questions. The suite was perfect. We had two bedrooms AND TWO BATHROOMS. The kitchen was nicely furnished. The physical aspect of the entire property is excellent. Our trip, which was basically snowed-out (the big snow of 2010 in the UK), was made fun and very pleasant by the staff. The staff is 1st CLASS in everyway. Oh, I guess I should mention that the location was very good. Edinburgh can easily be gotten around, under normal circumstances. With all the snow we had to rely on taxis. Because the property is very close to The Royal Mile taxis were inexpensive and the staff we very helpful in procurring the taxis.

Bus 35 is right on the corner and takes you to North Bridge and The Royal Mile, travels down The Royal Mile to Holyrood (the Queen's Palace), and if you stay on the bus it goes out to the The Royal Yacht Britannia.

Great Location and Quiet

Great location near Grass Market and the Royal mile. I think we should gotten the superior room instead of standard as the apartment was a little dated. Many restaurants close by but it was nice to eat breakfast in the apartment as it is always hard to get started on vacation.

Excellent!!

This was an excellent selection for our family! We traveled with two kids (ages 9 & 3) and needed the extra space to spread out. The kitchen provided all necessary amenities to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Washer/Dryer were crucial. Free parking was a nice bonus. The location was great because the castle and Princes Street are a short walk away, as are supermarkets and other stores and restaurants. The only negative thing (and it is minor) I can think of is that it is close to some bars and clubs, but we only had late-night noise on Saturday night and it really didn't bother us. The staff was extremely helpful with directions to find our way around the city and they loaned us a converter when the one we brought didn't work. When we return to Edinbrough this is definitely the place we will stay!

Kick back and enjoy

The Knight Residence was absolutely superb in every respect. I was so worried about finding an affordable (but comfortable) hotel in Edinburgh. My parents were over from America, so they have a somewhat higher standard of comfort. Instead of booking two separate double rooms, we had one flat to share as a family at a very reasonable price (no need to collect a key across town from an office they have staff on-site). First, the staff is unbelievably nice. The concierge was friendly and helpful, and the cleaning staff was obliging (still cleaning our flat daily even though we are very late risers!). Second, the flat itself is brand new and equipped with washer/dryer, DVD, WiFi, high standard bathrooms, full kitchen. They also give you a little stash of tea/coffee/cereal/milk to start you out on when you arrive. The beds were comfortable, and all of the linen (even plush bathrobes) was replaced daily if requested. Lastly, the location was closer than ever to the touristy bits without being in the thick of it (my older non-walking parents were impressed). In the past, I have stayed in another hotel in Edinburgh that was just as nice, but not as relaxing and twice the price. Keep in mind, there is construction on the street so try to reserve a room that will not be affected by the noise. One complaint: the room was advertised as two queen rooms, which technically was correct, but the beds were actually arranged as 1 queen and 2 twin beds.
