There are also elegantly landscaped gardens, separated by the original Georgian garden walls. This is a pleasant hotel in the heart of the city. The hotel has its own gymnasium on the patio level. (KB 07/08) The hotel was built from a number of adjoining houses with white stone facades. It is a stunning Georgian exterior, one of the most elegant in the whole city. This delightful hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Princes Street in a Georgian crescent, overlooking a large expanse of green. It is in a charming part of Old Edinburgh, situation on a cobbled street.

Hogmanay Hotel

We arrived late on New Year's Eve for the Hogmanay celebration. The hotel was, naturally, booked solid. Our room, which was clean and had everything one would need, was unfortunately in the basement and directly underneath the dining room, so we could hear people walking back and forth. After staying there for the night, we asked the front desk for a room on a different level, and they were quite accommodating. Our new room was equally as nice as the previous room, but without the sound of foot traffic. The rooms have old world charm- high ceilings, ornamental moldings, etc- but with modern furnishings. Our room looked out onto part of the terrace (I believe), which was absolutely stunning (once we made it out there to look). The location was kind of off the beaten path (in that it was on a hill- it actually wasn't far from anything), so getting a taxi could be difficult at times. However this made for a nice quiet stay and spectacular views of the city.
