The website gives you not the right information

I was at room 216. The most stupid room, i have been in my life. Dirty, old, little and no fresh air. The window couldn t open. Only the bar & restaurant are ok in this hotel. All the rest is very bad. I booked this hotel because the rooms looks nice, it was complete the opposite. Saturday morning 04.00 o clock, big fire alarm in the whole building. Everybody was out of his rooms. Nobody came to tell what was going on.. Also the next day, nobody could explain wat was going on. So don t book this stupid dirty hotel!

One night stop over

You pay for what you get. I couldn't complain at all. I arrived on a late night flight and stayed there as there is no public transport to Glasgow late at night. The great thing was that it was cheaper to stay there than take a taxi to Glasgow. Having arrived at the hotel at 00.30am, it was a nice surprise to have a kettle with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and shortbread. I was starving when I arrived. I left first thing in the morning but if you have a room facing Princes Street, bring ear plugs as the windows are not double glazed and the traffic is a little noisy. However, I would recommend it to others for price and fabulous location.

Best to visit Edinburgh

A perfect location for an overall view of the city, and to visit it by foot. Room is very comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast is splendid. Two drawbacks: (1) no garage for those coming by car -- and the parking is quite a distance by foot, and (2) the restaurant closes at 9:30 pm -- as do practically all restaurants in Edinburgh -- which is very early especially in a city where it gets dark around 11:30 pm in the summer.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Giuliano's is an Italian restaurant -- about 20 minutes walk from the hotel -- which is one of the few top remain opened late.

Edinburgh Hotel

Very friendly staff. Large rooms. Very well kept old building. There is scaffolding up on the front of the building while they update it but there was no inconvenience or noise from this work. The location was great. Across the street from the train station. 10 minute walk from Edinburgh Castle, 5 minutes from the Royal Mile and 15 minutes from everywhere in Old Town.

Great Old Town Location

This hotel is located 2 blocks from the Royal Mile on Princess Street. It provides easy walking access to all of the many historic sites and museums along the Royal Mile. It is within easy walking distance of Calton Hill (1/4 mile). The restaurant in the hotel has a limited menu that is excellently prepared. It provides a nice view accross Princess Street towards the Royal Mile where the castel can be seen off to the right. The room was well appointed and clean, albeit a little small. For example there was a notch in the bathroom door the allow it to miss the sink. The staff were very helpful in finding alternate dining options such as traditional Scottish fare. They were very curtious and allowed early checkin and stored our luggage until our room was ready allowing us to do some site seeing in the mean time. All in all our stay was enjoyable.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

When beginning your site seeing treks to the Royal mile, use South Bridge which crosses over the rail station between Princess St. and the Royal Mile. Less of a Hill to start on!
