Spacious with a great location

This hotel is across the street from the train station so it took us less than 5 minutes to get there with our luggage. Check in was smooth and friendly. We chose a room with a view (523?) which the woman checking us in warned might be loud but as we were high up, we took the risk. The view overlooked Carlton Hill and although we could hear the train station announcements until around midnight it was definitely worth it. By European standards the room was huge. We had plenty of room to spread out our luggage and didn't have to struggle to move around each other like other places we stayed in Great Britain. The toilet flushed slow but I found most toilets in Edinburgh like this so I suppose it's just a Scottish thing. The bed was comfy and we had plenty of extra pillows and linens. We didn't pay for breakfast to be included but went down the first morning and paid cash to check it out. It was an average buffet but not good enough to visit again for the price (10 pounds.) They did have a good choice of fresh fruits, yogurt and yummy infused waters but I had to use tea bags and dispense hot water from a coffee machine. Really?! This is the UK, I expect a good cuppa not an American-style sub par imitation. The location can't be topped. The hotel was at the end of a close which led directly to Prince's Street

Weekend Holiday

Hotel prices in Edinburgh generally were a bit high. We were looking for a hotel where we could pay a decent price but be in the heart of the city, as we only had a weekend to spend. Jurys Inn fit all of that criteria. It isn't the most luxurious hotel you will stay at, but it's clean, the beds are comfortable, and its a short walk away from the train station and most of the sites. It was everything we were looking for.

Very happy with our stay

Excellent hotel and very central, overlooking Waverley Station and 5 minutes walk from Princes St. and Royal Mile. Bed very comfortable with lightweight duvet. Radiator in bedroom which we had control of and could heat the room in the evenings and turn off before going to bed. Room very clean and a good size for 3 guests. Had a couple of meals in the bar which were very good and reasonably priced. Visited Royal Yacht Britannia (very interesting), Royal Botanic Gardens, Murrayfield Stadium, Edin.Castle, walked Royal Mile, excellent shopping.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

If you visit Edinburgh Zoo with young children and they want to see the Pandas you will have to pay extra. £15 (adult) admission should include all animals in the zoo including the pandas as they would be very popular with children and adults alike.

great place to stay

Spent the weekend here. Very central. 3 mins walk from where airport bus stops. Exit out back and you're on to Royal Mile. Through train station at front and you're into Princes St. Was worried there might be train noise so got a room at the back of hotel. It was so quiet it was hard to imagine you're in a city. Staff couldn't have been nicer. Room was great, very clean. Only one minor niggle, I thought the bed was too hard. Didn't stop me sleeping though so it can't have been that bad. I'd definitely stay here again.

Get the Most Bang for Your Buck

This place is at walking distance from the Edinburgh train station. It also close to the royal mile. The staff was very pleasant and always willing to answer my questions. Most restaurants would not take my 3 year old after 8 PM, so the only option besides some diners was the bar at the hotel. The bar tender was great and I probably spoke with for couple of hours. And also financially this worked out great for me as I couldnt find any other hotel so close to the train station at this price.
