Pollock Halls is seasonal campus accommodation located at the foot of Holyrood Park, and offers safe & affordable bed and breakfast accommodation over the University's summer vacation, with over 2000 rooms available.
There is a vast range of room-types, including single standard (with shared bathroom facilities), single en-suite and twin en-suite rooms. Shared pantry facilities in each building include toaster, microwave, fridge, ironing board and iron and fridge; hairdryers are available at the main reception centre. Shared laundry facilities are also available in some buildings.
Full Scottish breakfast is included in the price, and is served in the John McIntyre Centre in the heart of the private campus grounds. Light meals can also be taken in the bar, and there is an on-site shop and ATM available for use by all guests.
Chargeable cabled internet access is available in all bedrooms and wireless internet access is available in some public areas. Free (limited) parking is available on-site, and guests will benefit from the 24-hour reception.
Pollock Halls is just 1.5 miles from the city-centre and Waverley train station, as well as many of Edinburgh's popular tourist attractions. It is also just 5 minutes' walk to Holyrood Park, and Arthur's Seat, an ideal location for walking, with beautiful views over Edinburgh.

- Single standard room offers one single bed, and the room has shared bathroom facilities. This equates to a shower/toilet for every 4 bedrooms. Each bedroom has a wash hand-basin and mirror. Full Scottish Breakfast is included in JMCC Restaurant.
- Single en-suite
- Single en-suite room offers one single bed. It is located in Holland House on Pollock Halls estate. The room has its own shower room and toilet. Full Scottish breakfast is included in JMCC Restaurant.
- Twin en-suite
- Twin en-suite room offers two twin beds. The room has its own shower room and toilet. Full Scottish breakfast is included in JMCC Restaurant.

The property is an ideal base from which to explore this fascinating city. On-site amenities include shop, restaurant, bar, cash-point and taxi rank. Pollock Halls is situated on Holyrood Park Road, which is just off the main A7 Old Dalkeith Road. Follow signs from the city centre and look for the Commonwealth Pool and turn on to Holyrood Park Road.

Basic But Clean & Functional
This was a good accommodation. It is not for those requiring luxury or amenities, but the price is fair for a clean basic room. I had a shared bathroom/shower, but it was always vacant when I visited. Breakfast in the morning was better than expected and basically all-you-can-eat. Also, the staff was the most polite and accommodating I have ever dealt with. I don't want to oversell it; it isn't a great room, but it is good value-for-money. The walls are thin, though.
