excellent overnight stopover!
Very convenient & efficiently run. Every help & consideration given to me & my wheelchair dependant husband. Breakfast very good, but coffee a bit tepid.

Mom + one in London
My son and I stayed at the Gatwick Sofitel for 2 nights before our flight back home to the US. We arrived way too early for check in but were able to leave our luggage with the concierge and our valuables in a lock box at reception at no extra charge. Using the Gatwick Express, 30mins we were in the center of London for 2 days of sight seeing - highlly recommend The Globe Theater tour. The food in the restaurant we ate in was excellent, although the service was a bit sloppy - smashed glass of wine over the table - but pricey. Walk 2 minutes to the terminal and shop Marks and Spencers for a better deal on food. Note to self - Remember not to buy a bottle of beer if you have not packed a bottle opener!

Not only was the hotel all that I had heard about it, but it was more, the Asian restaurant was fabulous and the service and food wonderful, I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody that is flying out early to anywhere to stay here, you will go to your flight refreshed and ready to face the day

Perfect place before an early flight
The check in lady was not very friendly or quick but otherwise, the consierge and check out chap were efficient, very helpful and friendly. Tip: If you are being driven and dropped at the hotel, park, check in and say your "goodbyes" within 10~15 minutes and the helpful parking person will waive you parking fee. This was most appreciated as travelling alone with a small child and heavy bags any help in getting to and from a place is much welcomed.

A good nights sleep
The beds are awesome, the shower my favorite of all hotels I've ever stayed in, I use this hotel whenever I have to stop a night at Gatwick

Good overnight stay before an early morning flight.
Very comfortable hotel. Good proximity to car rental and train to South terminal. Enjoyed a good meal in the Asian restaurant. Good value. Didn't cost much more than the restaurants inside the airport terminal.

Location, location, location
This was the perfect place to collapse en rte to Denver after weeks in Romania in 3 (or 2) star hotels. The Sofitel London Gatwick room was super comfortable (super bed) and totally quiet. Only problem: Access to internet at the Business Ctr. was pricey, and hotel food was too pricey for me. So, eat at the airport (attached by walkway), and use i'net for free 15 min. to print your boarding pass only. Hotel TV has BBC and CNN. Also 1 channel in Arabic, I think. And TV has Fr., Spanish, German also. It was a cool, misty day...so I just slept and read and watched TV in luxurious quiet in this very comfortable room. It was worth the extr 4 star cost for that comfort en rte home to Colo. after living on the cheap in E. Europe for the 5 prev. weeks.

In Hotel
Buy small carton of milk, and then use that with your hotel room's powdered(or drip) coffee, so you don't have to use the powdered "cream". It's worth it.

Sofitel Gatwick
I love Sofitel hotels. This one is slightly older than some of the other Sofitels I am used to. Nonetheless, it is extremely convenient as it is in the airport terminal and it can't get any better than that. Management should consider updating the rooms.
