Review of BEST WESTERN Old Mill Hotel & Leisure Club

Typical Best Western - and that's good.
A generally clean, comfortable and well equipped hotel. The staff were efficient, if lacking in particular warmth.
A couple of negatives - at 1030am on Saturdaay morning, the front steps still had a large number of cigarette ends scaattered from
the previous night (although why people toss them onto such a prominent place amazes me - perhaps a prominent bin would help in addition to the litter bin at the bottom of the steps.)
And at breakfast - which was reasonably good value, my wife asked for her egg cooked one side (Sunny side up). It came well cooked both sides. The response was that they always cooked the eggs like that ' as we do not want to poison anyone'. Either a deadpan joke in poor taste or a serious lack of confidence in the freshness of the products being given to the kitchen.
I'd go again.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
Venetian House (was Ramsons) on the square in Ramsbottom. New management and still the same high quality and value.
