Valentine's Weekend

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights 14th and 15th Feb 2015. The building is very unattractive from the outside however decor is lovely inside so don't be fooled! The parking is £7.50a night which is very reasonable. (We paid £15.50 for 4 hours in one of the car parks in Bristol). On Valentine's night, we literally got the last parking space. Apparently they allow you to park in the coach bays etc if the car park is busy. I think this was the case due to full capacity, the day after it wasn't hard to find a space. We received a warm cookie each upon arrival and check in was quick. We were not however, informed that the internet code would change and we would need to go down and get another one or how to work the car park access (exit card). Our room was decorated really well and the bed was huge and comfy! The bathroom was very small but perfectly formed and had everything we needed. A few complimentary toiletries too. The phone in our room didn't work but wasn't that much of an inconvenience. Breakfast was really very nice! A large rustic feel restaurant, buffet style food. We were offered coffee on both times and both times nobody arrived with our coffee. Very bazaar! I'm sure they just forgot. We didn't mind but someone else may have done. Yes there were church bells ringing on the Sunday morning but we didn't find them a problem. Overall a very pleasant stay. Some of the staff could have been friendlier on the reception desk. I would stay here again.

Comfortable Stay

The hotel is in a walking distance from Bristol Temple Meads. Cookie at arrival is usual for Double Tree. The room is spacious and clean. The stuffs were decent and helpful. Breakfast wasn't include but there are nice morning places in the old city. It was quiet stay just before Christmas.

Not bad, not good either

Went there for a convention, so the hotel was very full, still the staff was not rushed of their feet and took good care of all the guests. Mattress was a disaster, felt as if it was slipping from the bed all the time, spent my last night sitting in a chair because I couldn't lay down from the pain in my back.
