A large but friendly holiday hotel

Would recommend Sun, Sep 6, 2015
We had read some mixed reviews for this hotel but we were more than satisfied with everything during our stay. This hotel used to be a five star, then a four star but is now ungraded, catering largely for the holiday trade. My wife and I found all staff polite and cheerful, this will be our first choice for a hotel on our next trip to Bournemouth.

Return to Bournemouth

Would recommend Thu, Jun 18, 2015
Revisiting Bournemouth the town where I used to live, decided to stay at the Royal Bath. I found it a lot better than the reviews it has unfortunately received. Location couldn't be better. Great English breakfast included and buffet dinner only 9 pounds. Lovely grounds and garden to be enjoyed (when its not raining), and I used the gym/spa and pool everyday. Rooms clean and comfortable. The parking is expensive, just park up the street. Just needs some renovating but overall a good stay.

No Longer a Great Hotel....VERY POOR

Would not recommend Tue, May 13, 2014
Very Poor, the staff are rude, and not helpful with little to no customer service skills, the room was very very small, you have to pay to use the leisure facilities, charged to pay by credit card and even to use a debit card. Hotel used to be a DeVere, standards have dropped dramatically now its a Britannia, will not go back!!!!!

disappointing

Would not recommend Tue, Oct 29, 2013
Every few years we try this hotel again because of its great location, this time it was worse than ever. Never book a City or Club room unless you like to be in a linen closet. TV didn't work in two rooms, toilet didn't flush in one of the rooms. Food was average at best. If you have a free wine deal do not get the red, it is totally undrinkable.

Unimpressed

Would not recommend Fri, Sep 27, 2013
First room nothing worked. Not even a working phone to call front desk to complain. Second room we finally had the sea view we had booked and paid for but only one remaining night stand lamp and it did not work. Staff was lovely and tried hard to cope with broken down facility. Would not recommend!

Family with an infant

Would not recommend Fri, May 10, 2013
We asked for a bed Cot in advanced, but when we arrived they said that it is not available. However, we made a complain and the manager sorted out finally. The reception asked us about convient time for dinner and we chose the late available time but when we were there even earlier than that time, most food were ran out or it was cold. The breakfast was excellent. The mattress was so soft that I got backache in the morning. The floor was so noisy that we didn't dare to walk in the room after the baby slept! The location was excellent and the staff was helpful and friendly.
