Bournemouth Connaught Hotel
Recently returned from 4 night stay at the Connaught and it was a generally a good hotel. I stayed on the 3rd floor in a balcony twin room which was very comfortable. Very nice staff but some could not speak English and this can make asking questions difficult, some daily cobwebs went unnoticed in our room. However towel changes and other cleaning done promptly every day. The breakfast was lovely and you could eat as much as you like. I would recommend however if you eat an evening meal to spend the extra and dine in Blakes restaurant instead of the bar/lounge as I did. There where only 2 tables dining and the orders came out wrong, and staff took a long time to rectify them. This is partly due to under staffing and being a low priority as eating in the lounge. Overall I had a lovely time in Bournemouth and would stay at the Connaught again. Lastly if going with an elderly person the balcony rooms are on the 3rd floor and the stairs are steep. The lifts are slow and tiny so maybe better to request the ground or middle floor.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
If your on a budget, there is a harvester (The Durley Inn) with a beach view. Food was really good and amazing views. A carpark which is pay and display is right next to it. You can also walk from the Connaught which will take about 10 - 15 minutes.

weekend break
one of the best breaks we have had in Bournemouth, we could not fault the accommodation in any way, we were looked after very well by the staff. The facilities in the leisure club were very good and it was not far to walk to the BIC to see a show.
