Sheraton Deira Hotel, Dubai

They have parties in the ballroom located in the Ground floor, despite been in the 4th floor the noise was terrible, we called several times, and finally at 2 in the morning they decrease the volume. We couldn't heard the music, just a continuous boom, boom accompanied by vibration. This ballrooms should be sound proof specially in a chain hotel like this. The next day we were changed to another room in the 5th floor in the other side of the building, which it was much better..

At our arrival the type of room we had booked was not available, therefore, we were upgraded to a suite. The concierge was very helpful. She not only suggested on what tours to take but also gave us very helpful tips of how to explore the city. The buffet breakfast was excellent.

The hotel recepionists were a bit rude and unfriendly, but the doormen where exceptionally helpful and friendly. Although mistakes were made with the room the stafff quickly rectified and were always polite and friendly. the club lounge staff are helpful, friendly and try to accomodate your needs at all times. despite reception i would stay at this hotel again.

Wonderful experience

Hotel is short drive from the airport and close to Deira gold guk and shopping. Staff are always helpful and smiling. The price was great. I have stayed in the hotel several times. I can't remember any bad experience.

Even though this hotel is no longer located 'where the action is' in Dubai as it is closer to the old town and the creek its high level of customer service, competitive pricing and quality accommodation has enticed us to stay here on our 3 visits and we just love it. Taxi fares are very reasonable and the hotel offers a free shuttle to the Deira Mall and the beach. A taxi to the big Dubai Mall costs about 35 dirhams. The pool is on the rooftop and we had a superb barbecue up there one evening. The staff are all extremely helpful and polite and just literally can't do enough for you. The bedrooms and mini suites are superb and the hotel is very quiet whilst catering for eveybody. The Club floor offers even better value with access to the Club lounge for breakfast and coffees throughout the day. We definitely hope to return!

I stayed at the Sheraton Deira hotel in November 2010 on a business trip. The hotel is near Dubai International Airport - about 10 minutes by taxi. But you won't need a taxi in the future because once the Green Line of the Metro system is up and running, the hotel will be a short walk from Abu Baker Al Siddique station. The cost from the airport for a single trip is AED 4.50 (80 pence) of which AED 2.00 is for the Red NOL card which is the equivalent of an Oyster card. This card can be topped up for trips on the brand new Metro system which is clean, efficient and a joy to travel in. My room was a classic room. It had a king size bed, with very comfortable pillows. The decor had a contemporary feel to it. The room also had a work desk, mini fridge, flat screen 42 inch wide TV, and ample wardrobe and drawer space. Lighting was just perfect. There was a complimentary shoe shine service if you needed it. The room also had two small arm chairs and a coffee table. The bathroom was of a good size with a toilet, bidet and washbasin. Ampoules of shampoo, conditioner and body lotion were provided as complimentary. They also provided two complimentary 750cc bottles of still water each day. The hotel has a swimming pool on the rooftop. It has a good gym. There is a hair dressing salon on the fifth floor. The hotel is ideally located for those who need to be near Deira City Centre. The check in time is 3pm and this can be a problem if you arrive on a morning flight. But the receptionists understand this and in my case, I obtained my room within an hour of my arrival at the hotel. I was in my room by 11.30 am. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They do their best to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. I had a problem with the internet connection of my laptop at about 11.30 at night. Within 5 minutes there was a member of staff who came to sort out the problem. I was surprised as I half expected nobody would be available until the morning. Room service was efficient. I ordered room service at different times during the night - at 11pm , at 1.20 am and at 3.45 am - and the staff arrived within 5 minutes of me placing the call. The hotel is under the flight path to the airport. But the windows are well double glazed and I did not hear the planes at all. In front of the hotel is Al Muteena Street. In the middle is an esplanade. Both sides of the street have many cafes and restaurants - Indian, Iranian, and Lebanese were the main ones. The food is delicious and cheap. On Iranian Restaurant offered a buffet of some twelve disher for AED33 (about GBP5.80). And there was a choice of six desserts as well. If you do not wish to eat out, the hotel offers great cuisine. On one night the hotel held an Italian buffet night - and the range of foods available (both hot and cold) was amazing. The price was AED 95 (GBP16.66) including non alcoholic drinks. This represents great value for money. All in all, I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and would recommend it readily if Deira City is where you need to be on your visit.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and again the the staff are very helpful & polite.
