Landmark Plaza Rooms

Very rude hotel staff
This hotel was the worse hotel experience I have ever had. First, when I got there, they did not have my room ready. They made me wait for 3 hours, until a room was ready. Once I entered the room, I could not believe how small the room was. When I saw the bathroom, I felt like I was trapped. It was so small, and cockroaches were all over the bowl. I was saddened to see that. At night, I had a guess visiting me. They would not allow any body to come to my room for even 2 minutes. One of the nights, I had a cousin visiting me. The receptionist called me, asked me to go down, and talked to them. I did not know what they wanted, so I did not go down that very moment. Few minutes later, Police Officers were in the lobby for me. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. THEY HAD CALLED POLICE FOR ME because I had a guess in my room. We were two people. Police wanted my cousin to show his passport. This person had to go to his own hotel and get his passport in the middle of the night. Once that was taken care of, I asked the hotel manager why he did that. He was so rude and with the hotel receptionist both, were swearing at me. They used profanity and got me very angry. When I wanted to checkout, they refused to give me late checkout and wanted double the money for few extra hours. I was so mad. If they were in the UNITED STATES, I would have filed a lawsuit against them.

My review of Landmark Plaza
I had to contact the Events Coordinator numerous times to book day trips - I did not feel as though she was overly intersted in guests or helping out - in fact the first day I went there she was in a terrible mood was smoking a cigarette in the lobby and was focusing more on what appeared to be her boyfried - he was not an employee but was there everytime I went to either book an event, reserve internet time or was just passing through - I found this most strange as I thought the purpose of an event coordinator was to help not hinder you booking fun excursions while on my vacation - it is not everyday that you travel to Dubai. One day I was requested to leave $100 US Dollars as a deposit which I absolutely would not do - should I have incurred fees, I would of couse be obligated to pay - e.g. hotel laundy, phone and minibar. They also wanted to keep my Passport at the desk - I declined this also. The bathroom was not very clean and I had to even ask one day for them to vaccum - though the man that did that was very nice, I must say - he was very nice and prompt when I needed an item such as an iron. All and all most of the staff were friendly - man in main lobby when I entered was very nice also - I just wish that the Event Coordinator was more helpful - I should not have to beg and be a pest to receive assistance - I was a full pay person and had a real desire to take these trips - On Tues. when I was there I went on a Big Bus excursion - that evening, I wanted to go to the famous hotel, Burj Al-Arab - I asked for assistance and she told me they had no booking until the 20th of April - I walked a few feet away called myself and got a booking that evening - If only that hotel (Burj) knew that she was not assisting - I spent over One hundered dollars just myself on a buffet dinner - Plus side - it was close to alot of shops, not too far from public transport and near gold souk.

Short walk from hotel
Gold Souks nearby - public tranit near gold souk also to take you to many of the malls, e.g. Mall of the Emirites, Wafi City, Lancy City - I would try and use public tansit if at all possible as taxi fares can add up quickly -

Мы часто останавливаемся в Ландмарке. отель хороший, расположение тоже хорошее, персонал очень дружелюбный. Проблема только одна интернет трафик -очень слабый и практически невозможно работать в инете, если находишься в номере, более-менее если находишься на рессепшине и то постоянно выбивает. Гостиничный бизнесс-центр расположен в ресторане и имеет одну особенность, если Вы зашли в интернет из гостиничных компьютеров, Вы не можете выйти из интернета и всё оставшиеся интернет-время пропадает. Правда после того как я обратилась на рессепшин с жалобой на интернет-трафик, администратор любезно позволил поработать в административном кабинете. А всё остальное - хорошо!
