The Burj al Arab Hotel Dubai has its own artificial island just off Jumeirah Beach. The short drive across the causeway takes you to The Walk, Dubai's bustling waterfront 'Golden Mile', packed with upscale shopping, restaurants and bars. Nearby you'll find the Wild Wadi Waterpark, where guests of Burj al Arab enjoy complimentary entrance. Ski Dubai is also close at hand, and you can take a water tour on the native 'dhow' boats - reflected in the Burj al Arab's famous sail design.

Phenomenal Property

The Burj al Arab is a phenomenal property, managed with the highest possible standards, and responsive and committed staff. The hotel is expensive, but this is to be expected at any property labeled as "The most luxurious hotel in the world."

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

To save money, I would recommend dining at the nearby Mall of the Emirates. The mall has phenomenal restaurants, great shopping and entertainment (skiing, movies, etc.). There is also a huge grocery store with fresh baked goods and local fare.

A once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Whatever you've heard about the opulence of the Burj Al Arab, it's more! Gold-plated taps, massive suites, marble staircase (in your room!)chandeliers and service to die for! Apart from the ridiculous price-tag whats not to love about the Burj? Something you should do once if only to say you've sampled the worlds only 7-star resort!

Impressive Hotel but very Stuffy

The hotel is impressive with gorgeous suites. The location is wonderful with all the sister hotels just a buggy (golf carts) ride away or a view out your window. The buggy rides with very friendly drivers was great. The suites were over the top with electronic controls for everything from drapes & mood lighting to opening the front door, beautiful bathrooms with fullsize toiletry amenities, staircase. You can call the butler to draw your bath water if you wish. The "office" comes complete with a laptop computer, fax machine with your own fax number. Definitely worth the experience once. Prices are ridiculous though. We went to the lunch buffet the first afternoon. It was a cruise type buffet and decor but cost almost $500. I would not recommend it. The hotel was just to stuffy for our taste. It was 110 degrees outside yet they request no shorts or sandals in the lobby or restaurants anytime except the pool. Jackets are required for men at dinner.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Take a buggy ride to one of the many bars at the sister hotels. The drinks are MORE THAN double at the Burj.
