Fujairah Rotana Resort and Spa - AL Aqah Beach

The check in process was complicated as they couldn't find our travel vouchers. Once sorted, we were told the rooms weren't ready - a common problem when attempting to check in early however they failed to tell us they literally weren't ready as the 3 months renovations had only been completed that morning. It took us 6 hours to get the room back to a "normal" temperature and to stop the condensation whilst there were many tiles still missing from the floor and walls. The room itself was of a good size and location with views across the pool and sea. Confusion abounded as to the service of alcohol (it was Ramadan) and the service at the pool bar can only be described as ordinary. Staff were friendly but little idea. Resort grounds and services were good, but tired. We would go back again as it was great for the kids but don't expect Dubai service standards.

The beach outside our hotel was lovely and peaceful; however, inside our room from 10 p.m til 2:00 a.m. it was obnoxiously loud. It just happened that our room, #1120, was directly above a bar called Tabu. The god awful sounds of karaoke night kept us awake until 2:00 a.m. Despite calling reception FIVE times only to get promises of solutions, but nothing was resolved until the bar closed. The next day when we checked out, we told reception that our stay was unpleasant, and we only received a slightly sympathetic look. I feel we should've been forewarned that our room is not sound-proofed, and that we would endure a sleepless night because of it. I am very upset that I paid to lose a peaceful night at a 'relaxing' resort.

We booked through [...] but on arrival the hotel had no record of the booking. Waited around for best part of an hour trying to prove that I had made the booking and I had to access my emails to do this!

Great first class hotel.

This hotel is set in beautiful gardens right on the beach. The deal we found on hotelclub was much less than the advertised rates. The hotel offers free watersports - snorkelling trips to Snoopy Island, pedalos, kayaking, and lots of paid watersports including diving. Food wise, the restaurants (one a la carte, one buffet and two cafe/snack places) were fine if a little expensive. Room service (eaten on the balcony overlooking the gardens) was a better value option - one serving could have served two! - and there was plenty of choice. The staff were charming. The hotel has a children's club which seemed to have plenty of activities, and there are two areas for children to swim, one covered and one with a waterslide. The pool is large. There's a salon, and a spa which seemed quite expensive. It's an easy two hour drive from Dubai, and well worth for an utterly relaxing weekend break.

My famly and I had a wonderful stay as usual. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone traveling with children. I would have to say that the buffet is slipping and the beach could be cleaner, but all things considered great family resort

Really nice resort in Fujairah. We definitely go back there someday. Nice room, nice facilities, relaxing atmosphere! We enjoyed! Also nice spa :)

An awesome place for a small vacation with family especially for those having kids. Amazingly beautiful sceneries with touch of arab oriental yet modern architecture. Staff was quite friendly and cooperative.

Check in was very easy, the staff gave me an outline of the location of all the amenities, very helpful. Food was excellent and very nice. The hotel is located near the beach, but the pool is also great to relax next to if you want.
