fabulous resort

We stayed at this hotel in February and had a great stay. The included breakfast buffet was one of the best we had on our trip. My wife had a spa treatment and had a great experience. It's very remote but an amazing location.

What A let Down!

Would not recommend Thu, Jan 9, 2014
We had A New Years break in Abu Dhabi which involved four nights at the Ritz Carlton in Abu Dhabi and four at Qasr Al Sarab. The contrast was stark.Antantara hold you captive in this outstandingly beautiful setting and feel no need to make any special effort in any respect. The room was dirty my wife had to write clean me in the dust to get that seen to.She got food poisoning in the main Resteraunt where Staff at the cooking station do not wear gloves. Portions at the pool side eatery are small.Ghosh the Assistant bar manager in the lobby lounge is delightful as are many members of staff and makes the best coffee Martini I've ever had.The Spa which we went for is profoundly disappointing ,no complementary use of the small poorly designed facilities before your treatment .We had the signatures couple massage, well executed but we had to ask to use the relaxation room afterwards For the price I expect to be pampered at every turn but this simply didn't happen. There is minimal to no cultural entertainment A range of pricey desert activities but none of the varied cultural musical activity that one has enjoyed elsewhere in the usually wonderful Gulf desert resorts. The pool and hot tub could both do with a rise in temperature and in the latter more bubbles and no kids enforcement. But then there is no kiddy club so not that much for them to do.Allin all a sad disappointment made barely tolerable by some pleasant can't do enough for you staff and the truly incredible views.

Entertainment hint

Make your own outside the pricey activities and forget any chance of night life or shopping your miles away go for a suite or villa directly overlooking a view of the desert and on no account stay longer than two days if you must go at all.
