What a disappointment

I paid for a king size bed and got 2 double beds. When I questioned the staff I was told that there were no king beds available. On top of that we had to wait an additional hour for the room to be made available. The room was never cleaned, straightened but never cleaned. Except for the first day we never had a full compliment of towels and the floors were never vacuumed. I would suggest that people try other resorts first, I will not be going back.

Another great stay at Royal West Indies

Staff is friendly and helpful. Great location, the beach and grounds are beautiful. Never feels crowded. Many great restaurants and activities within walking distance. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. My third visit to RWI and I plan to return soon.

beauty and the beach

My husband and I stayed at Royal West Indies for 6 nights. We loved it. The room was perfect. Clean, good size and great amenities. You're on vacation so you really aren't going to stay there long. Our room had a full size fridge, microwave and toaster. This is great as an average meal is 30$/person. Location The resort sits on a beautiful beach. It's close to a grocery store ( bike rental for 2 hrs complimentary from resort) as well as a strip mall for souvenirs. Restaurants are also in walking distance.

1st visit Turks and Caicos

Stayed in studio garden view. Very basic amenities...no gym. Positives: price, clean rooms, great view, nice landscaping, beach, smaller resort. Staff not overly friendly except for bellman. Issue with slow drainage if tub. Beach location awesome! Some restruants within walking distance. Children loud in the adult quiet area pool. Cabs that serve resort are not very professional. All cabs super expensive and charge based on number of passengers.

Great location and value

The hotel is located right on beautiful Grace Bay, and is a 15 minute walk from shopping, restaurants and a supermarket. Since the rooms are equipped with a kitchen, the supermarket is great. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the beach was not crowded at all in July. A great value on a beautiful beach; I'd definitely stay there again.

Another Great Stay Experience!

This was our third stay at RWI in the last five years. We always thoroughly enjoy it. It's not too big and not too small. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar are nice and not too pricey. The location is convenient to shopping and other dining spots. And the beach is fabulous. We'll be back.

Right on the beach!

Our studio ocean view room was great. Had frig, microwave, and a washer/dryer set. Well stocked kitchen which made it easy to save a few dollars from eating out so often. Nice pool areas and bar. Happy hour was useful since the price of mixed drinks were around $10. They offer some equipment such as bikes, snorkeling, and kayaks. It is a bit of distance from stores and food.

Couldn't have been better !

Our stay last week was absolutely wonderful! Everything from the friendly, helpful, accommodating staff, the room, grounds, food, drinks, entire atmosphere of the resort could not have been better .I would pick RWI over many of the others that we checked out during our visit. We will definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to other people that we know will be traveling to TCI in the near future. Thank you for a wonderful 30th anniversary vacation!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

You don't really need a car. The hotel has free bikes to use,you can easily walk to the grocery store and other shops and restaurants and if you need to go on an excursion ,the hotel or the excursion will arrange your transportation . Taxis(which are mini vans) are easily available. Its also easier to do without since driving is on the left like in the UK.

Affordable Option

This is a good hotel to stay at if you are planning on doing a lot of activities around the island throughout the day and you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your room or at the hotel itself. However, it does have a very cool pool area. Other hotels that are more expensive offer more luxury but this hotel is good value.

Best value we could imagine!

We wanted to take a last minute vacation on a budget and chose the Royal West Indies based on other recent reviews. Given the fact that it was on the lower end of hotel costs for the area we we're hoping it wouldn't be a disaster. It exceeded all expectations! The hotel was very clean, from the room to the pool to the beach to the bar/restaurant, the staff was very friendly and accommodating and the grounds were luscious and well kept. We walked through several "luxury" properties along Grace Bay priced 3x as much and didn't really feel like we we're missing out at all. It's all the same beautiful beach after all so why pay extra for a gold-plated pool. On that front, there we're towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, sailboats, bicycles, snorkeling equipment and kayaks provided and even bicycles to use to explore. It truly was a paradise for those who like to experience extreme comfort, cleanliness and style without paying ridiculous money. I'd recommend it to all visitors.

Money-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

Everything is more expensive in the Turks and Caicos but if you're their primarily for the breathtaking beaches make use of the 2 supermarkets (Gourmet is the more expensive of the 2) and load up for picnics and snacks and restrict dining out to lunches and 1-2 fancy dinners. Oh and ABSOLUTELY go to the Thursday night Fish Fry!
