Relaxing Family Vacation

The resort was on an amazing beach, the best I have ever seen. Many available covered lounges on the beach and the resort was not very crowded. The room was updated and large, with a very nice Kitchen. Staff was less than accommodating and pool was a bit dirty. The Mango Reef Restaurant had a good dinner menu. There was no entertainment (besides the fish fry on Thursday) and the food and transportation was very expensive.

Very comfortable and good value

After just getting back from Turks and staying previously at both Seven Stars and Grace BayEstates I can say the Alexandra is a very nice place but not the caliber of the others. The location is good and the staff very nice and friendly. The rooms are Large and very clean...the outside terrace is huge with nice furniture. Didn't like the hard pillows And after asking housekeeping that was all they could offer. Beds were a bit small..no kings offered. Beach is Wonderful..walk to town but not very very close. Good Value overall.

Good family getaway

A nice quiet spot to vacation for families or couples. Not a lot of facilities and service was at times below average. However, great location and wonderful beach/water.

Wonderful resort, great location!

My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful experience on the island and enjoyed staying at the Alexandra. There were many things we especially liked about our stay there. The expansive patio outside our room, the well appointed kitchen, the washer and dryer in the room, the caring staff, and of course the beach front location. Some points of interests were a half day Dream Tour excursion snorkeling for conch, sand dollars and exploring the reef and marveling at the underwater world. Para sailing. And a day trip to Middle Caicos visiting Mudjin Harbour (the highlight of our trip). Some of our favorite dining experiences were Mango Reef (located beach side at the Alexandra), Hemingway's and Bay Bistro which are both just a short walk from the Alexandra. We would definitely go back to the Alexandra Resort in a minute!

Alexandra Resort

The Alexandra resort is very laid back and peaceful. The front desk personnel were extremely helpful in planning itineraries and such. The beach is beautiful...crystal clear water & powdery white sand.

Great family getaway

I would highly recommend this island for those of you that need to get away from it all and enjoy a nice, quiet, and relaxing vacation. The beaches are absolutely beautiful. I was not impressed with the Alexandra Resort...rooms were great but the hotel itself did not have much to offer. Staff is unfriendly and there is only one restaurant opened (if that is what they call a restaurant). The service at the restaurant is awful, and highly priced, but the food is good. I recommend vacationers to rent a condo or villa on or near the beach which will cost less. There are two supermarkets in town that offer a variety of food which will again cost less to eat in then out. If you enjoy to eat out expect to spend between $50-60 per person for breakfast, lunch and about $75-100 per person for dinner...although the food is very good...you must try the "conch fritter" an island delicacy. If you decide to eat out, I highly recommend "Iguana" Restaurant. The food and service is excellent*****! There is not much to do in town...most stores are closed due to the economy. There are plenty of water activities, boat tours, horse-back riding, and ATV tours around the island. Also, I recommend you rent a car..taxi's will cost you a pretty penny. It was a $50.00 charge to the hotel from airport which is 5 minutes away. They drive on the left side of the road but easy to get use to. All-in-all it was enjoyable vacation with my family, a very safe island and you don't have to worry about being hassled into buying anything. If you enjoy the nightlife and entertainment then this would not be an island for you. It is an up-scale island for families, honeymooners, seniors and for those of you who want peace and quiet.
