A Terrific Hotel
Like other hotels in the Swiss-owned chain, the Moevenpick in Izmir is beautiful, clean and friendly. The food (esp. the ice cream), service, room etc. were all terrific. I highly recommend this hotel and the chain.

The Frugal Jetsetter
Beautiful Room & Great Loca & Price
Friendly helpful service, great gym, large, clean, modern rooms at a good price. English was a bit of a struggle for some of the staff, but then again, I did not speak a word of Turkish! Do not be put off by the medal detectors in the lobby...an unfortunate sign of the times and was there for our protection. Great location near bus stop to airport and bus to Ephesus.

Entertainment tip:
Short walk from hotel
You do not need a group tour to Ephesus. You can easily take a comfortable bus and tour yourself. Ask staff for help and get a good guide book before you go.

Two Canadians
Lovely Hotel, but not flexible!!
The Movenpick hotel provides a clean, comfortable, and convenient stay in Izmir. The health club (pool, fitness room, sauna, and steam room) were a really nice bonus. However, when we mistakenly booked the room for 1 guest instead of 2 guests online, we were forced into paying 27 euros extra per night for my husband on top of what we were already paying. Our rate did not include breakfast either. The hotel staff refused to negotiate and insisted we pay it.
