Great Value

I was surprised by the quality of the hotel and the room, which surpassed the photos and my expectations for cleanliness and quality. The price is great compared with hotels in Istanbul, and you are getting a good discount for the city being Izmir. You are a reasonable walk to the Agora ruins and the bazaar district near the seaside and clock tower square. Also, there is a metro stop nearby which connects to the Airport. We took ship/bus/bus to the bus station and cab to the hotel. After that, it was walk to metro then metro to airport. Good breakfast.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Unless you are wealthy, do NOT pay $100 euros for an arranged minibus from hotel to Ephesus in Selkuk. Rather, find your way to the main bus station ("Otto Gar") and take an hourly mini-bus for the hour drive to Selkuk for 10 lira, then short bus for 5 lira to the ruins. This is easier and cheaper.
