This boutique hotel is perfect for the traveller looking for tranquillity. The Turkish haman, sauna and beautiful gardens help to make this a relaxing place. The hotel also provides a free shuttle to the city centre (please check at reception for details). We recommend this hotel. (11/07 JMG) The six villas were built in a style inspired by Ottoman art. The hotel is located in the old part of the city not far from the Old Town walls, on Pierre Lotti Hill, with amazing views of the Golden Horn. The hotel is only a 10 minute taxi ride from Istanbuls main centre, with all its attractions.

Hotel address: Merkez Mah. Idris Kosku Cad, Istanbul, Turkey --
The hotel has a restaurant decorated in old Ottoman style, where guests can enjoy traditional Turkish cuisine as well as international dishes. There are also two cafes with beautiful views of the Golden Horn and the garden. In the cafe there is a good selection of tobaccos so guests can smoke the famous Turkish water pipe.

Beautiful view from our room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Some sights were a bit of a ride from our hotel but we ... would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Although the location is not near Sultanahmet where the major tourist attractions, this is an oasis from the noisy hustle ... bustle of Istanbul. There is some history a few steps from the hotel where Pierre Loti wrote his masterpieces about Turkey. The surrounding neighborhood is extremely safe with locals doing their daily chores. The food is great. If the weather was better during our stay, we would have enjoyed the surroundings much better. There is a world class narghele cafe and a simple demonstation of local manti and dumplings. Daily one way shuttles are provided to Sultanahmet. For a relaxing stay, this is the place.

The breakfast is very organic and extremely good. If you want an upscale restaurant with a terrific view, this is the place.

Not just a hotel, it's an experience.

This hotel was a great value for the money. My boyfriend and I both very much enjoyed our 2 week stay at this hotel during ... Ramazan. The location is slightly distant from the city center but is accessible by public transport (cable car, ferry, bus, taxi) or hotel shuttle to city center. There is a small parking lot on site for those with cars. We had no problems getting anywhere in the city from the hotel. There is a beautiful lookout point where you can view Istanbul across the Golden Horn. There are two restaurants and a cafe, a sauna, and a hooka lounge. The last two we did not use.The neighborhood where the hotel is located, is culturally very interesting. The entire hotel, the cemetery, and the neighborhood of Eyup adds to the experience of visiting Istanbul. The rooms of the hotel were comfortable, always cleaned and well managed. I feel the size of the room which we stayed in was perfect for two. We had a balcony and window facing the East. The staff were pleasant, hospitality was top notch, breakfast was fantastic and complimentary, and the grounds were very well-kept. We loved the atmosphere of both the inside and outside, even though the hotel is located directly in the middle of a very large and unique cemetery atop a relatively large hill. I would definitely stay at Turquhouse again if I return to Istanbul.

Pierre Loti cafe and restaurants are on the grounds of the hotel-a calm and pleasant atmosphere with a nice view.A walk down or cable car ride down the cemetery path, is Eyup. There are food and clothing shops, and some restaurants, and a very interesting mausoleum--a main center of attraction for many muslims.
