Walk from hotel's grand lobby to the Grand Bazaar in 10 minutes
Istanbul's Old City has many hotels with décor that pulls heavily from the city's past. The Istanbul Royal Hotel stands out because, instead, it has a modern exterior and a classic interior. The lobby, one of the hotel's best assets, features gleaming marble and wood. Guests can relax in the spacious lobby before setting off on a day's adventures in the Old City. Attractions including the Blue Mosque and Gulhane Park are within walking distance. Hotel amenities include a restaurant, business center, and meeting room.

I paid with a 4 start hotel price
I paid with a 4 start hotel price but the room I was given is worse than 2 star. It was extremely noisy. The sound of toilet flush, shower, and tap water running in the next door can be heard like happening in fron of you. The service was poor, where both the Internet access and the air condition do not work. As a matter of fact, the hotel consists of two sections of buildings. The corner section where I stayed is practically worse than a 2 star hotel. Therefore, watch out for the situation that 2 star rooms are sold under the umbrella of 4 star.

If you are looking for a 4 star
If you are looking for a 4 star hotel, you well be disappointed. The reason is; the corridor is to dark, service is very minim, AC was not working properly/ too hot. Apart from these, it is still a recommended lodge given its good location.

Unbeatable location for the price
hotel was great very close to all of the main tourist attractions staff can speak a variety of different languages friendly people,clean hotel,nice breakfast for an unbeatable price.

taxi drivers overcharge to go to places like the grand bazaar which is a 10 minute walk from the royal hotel..

Royal Hotel Istanbul
I got enought for what I paid. This is a dissent hotel and moderatly clean. It is not located in best area of the city, staff were not too friendly, but in general the value exceeded what I paid for.

hotel qui ne merite pas son nombre
hotel qui ne merite pas son nombre d'etoiles : matelas et oreillers durs, couvertures douteuses, par contre les draps et les serviettes sont changées tous les jours. L'hotel est assez bruyant les femmes de menage claquent les portes et discutent dans les couloirs, une sorte de groupe electrogene ronfle en soirée. Du cote rue, il y a la circulation. Le petit dejeuner est correct, mais nous avons une fois diner le soir au restaurant de l'hotel, le repas etait digne d'une cantine... La salle de bain avait son plafond qui semblait bientot s'affaisser, les chambres son petites mais correctes, rideaux et moquettes meriteraient de voir la shampoigneuse... Le personnel masculin ignore assez la clientéle mais a l'acceuil il y a vait une dame efficace et sympathique. Donc bilan mitigé, prix trop élévé pour les services offerts (tv sans programme francais, frigo qui ne marche pas...)
