Fresh looking hotel with trendy touches, close to Istanbul attractions
The stylish Midtown Hotel Istanbul is just off Taksim Square and opposite Gezi Park. Boutiques on Istiklal Street, Ataturk Cultural Center and Istanbul Convention and Exhibition Center are all close. Guests receive an extensive breakfast buffet and the hotel is proud of its award-winning restaurant that serves Turkish and international cuisine at lunch and dinner. Lighter fare is in the hip and stylish café, which has an extensive coffee menu and serves an array of tasty sweet or savory appetizers. Free Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel. Four conference/meeting rooms and an on-site business center are available.

I've been to Istanbul on numerous occasions, and this is the first time I stayed at Midtown Hotel. It's a small hotel right in the heart of Taksim, near the bus line and in walking distance to the shopping area of Istiklal Street. I was impressed as to how clean and comfortable the room that was furnished to me. I always like to check the bathroom, and it was squeaky clean, especially the bathtub, toilet and sink. The hotel had free coffee or tea, with an electric hot pot in the room with a mini fridge & a large TV & internet service. There are many restaurants on that side of Taksim as well as small speciality shops. Although I did not dine at the hotel, I would recommend this hotel to any person or couple since the price is reasonable, and the staff spoke English fluently. There are small shops across the street where I purchased my own water, fruit and juice for such a cheap price. I slept well at night since I could not hear any loud noise from the outside, and anytime I needed a taxi, the doorman called a cab where the driver had the meter running with a valid price. As a precautionary measure, never take a taxi that does not have a meter - they will charge outrageous prices if you do. Dee from Germany

Short walk from hotel
Purchase your water, fresh fruit and water at the mini stores at every corner of the Taksim district intstead of using the mini fridge; short walk to Istiklal and areas within Taksim Use cabs that have running meters I found great prices at the Spice Market - buy in bulk, and you can have it at a cheaper price-you need to take a cab to Spice Market or take the city tour which includes a package deal that stops at SM and touring other historical places in Istanbul
