Kariye Hotel is a boutique hotel in Old Istanbul which blends old-world charm and modern amenities in a friendly atmosphere guaranteed to put our guests at ease. The hotel is a tastefully restored 19th century mansion located next to the world famous Church of the Chora, on a hill above the Golden Horn. It is a tranquil home away from home to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown Istanbul while remaining close to the sights.All rooms are fully equipped with colour television, minibar, hairdryer, telephone and radio. We offer 22 standard rooms, 2 deluxe rooms, 2 suites and a separate family annex with one master bedroom with en suite bathroom and one single room. We are happy to accomodate any special requests.

Save Your Money

This hotel was a real disappointment. [...] The description of the hotel states that it has old world charm. Actually, that's because it was built in the old world. The plumbing fixtures were crumbling, the bathroom door did not shut properly, and the room temperature was not easily adjusted. Basically, we did not have to leave the room to receive a Turkish steam bath. The price point of the hotel needs to be readjusted, since we paid more but got less when compared to other hotels in Istanbul. I felt sorry for the staff, because they are exceptionally nice but are essentially managing a cash cow for the owners. The owners need to invest in some serious renovations in order to bring the hotel up to a reasonable standard. Give this one a pass.
