Small hotel offers modern conveniences in Old City

For a budget-friendly hotel, the Fors Hotel Istanbul includes many amenities in the room rate. The hotel provides all guests with complimentary wireless Internet access and a daily buffet breakfast. The hotel -- in easy walking distance to most of Old City's historic attractions -- also has a beautiful outdoor terrace area where guests can relax.

Rooms

The hotel's rooms are simply decorated in traditional style. The visual focus in the rooms is definitely on the views outside the windows. Some rooms look out on the Old City while others have a garden or partial sea view. Room features may include wall sconces and wooden headboards. Walls are painted in light colors. There is traditional framed artwork in the rooms. Several different room styles are available including single rooms, double rooms, or, for groups that need more space, family rooms. All rooms have private bathrooms with showers. The rooms have complimentary wireless Internet access. first of all, I had more option to take for hotel, but I chose forse hotel, because they had shuttle service from airport.so,I took that one because I didn't know any turkish language, I arrived to Istanbul, I didn't see any one to take me to the hotel, after one hour waiting, I found some one, who spoke English and Turkish. He called hotel, they said, they don't have that service. I had to pay $50.00 to some body who take me to hotel, I don;t know It was false advertising for hotel[...] ?any ways after that, in all 2 nights and one day I was over there, no body ever said welcome. They had very poor customer service, and there mean, I don't recommend forse hotel to any one. However, it had a comfortable bed.

Outrageous

We booked 7 nights, advised hotel would be away for 2 nights and would be leaving our personal effects at the hotel until our return,Returned to hotel after two days to find that the hotel staff had re-sold our room to other guests whilst we were away and all our personal possessions were taken from our room by hotel staff and left in the lobby. We took our things and left hotel despite only spending 2 nights. When we e-mailed to complain we were given a sob story about stranded guests needing the room, and were told if we are ever in Istanbul again we can have the free nights we lost, as if. We paid about £457 for 7 nights in this hotel. Absolutely outrageous.

Fors Hotel 6/26/10

The hotel was a little tough to find, just off a street with several hotels and small restraurants. It was a good value for one night stay. Breakfast was clean with standard selections of small european hotels. Bread, cold cuts, tomatoes, cereal, fruits, jellies, sausage, hard boiled eggs etc. Room and bath were clean, bed comfortable. Staff was polite and helpful.

Great Location Great Price!

This hotel was a great find in old town Istanbul. It was only a short walk from a light rail stop and about a 10 minute walk to the Blue Mosque. The rooms were very new and clean and the staff was attentive and friendly. The room was small but for the price was so worth it. I would definitely stay here again.
