A renovated 19th century gem in Istanbul’s Old City
Located in the Sultanahmet district, also known as the Old City, the 48-room New Avicenna Hotel offers breezy, open, Mediterranean-style amenities in Istanbul. The hotel is a three-story complex made up of three different 19th century Ottoman buildings that were refurbished and transformed into a hotel in the 1990s. It was completely renovated and redecorated again in 2008. The buildings are connected with walkways that look down upon a beautiful Turkish garden. The décor is enhanced by using splendid fabrics with Ottoman influences. Some rooms have views of the sea from their own balconies. The hotel is just a short walk from such attractions as Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia Museum, and the Blue Mosque. The New Avicenna Hotel is also close to Ataturk International Airport. My room was in a backhouse, connected
My room was in a backhouse, connected with a short walkway to the main building. Small but well appointed and comfortable. Service was first rate, the staff were friendly (to the point of sometimes overloading me with information and suggestions on what to do). Questions were answered quickly and effectively. Breakfast was quite good and generous. Safe in room and free wi-fi everywhere in the hotel, international TV channels. Comfortable lounge with TV behind the lobby. The only downside was at the lovely upstairs restaurant, there is a huge TV where people were watching football when I wanted to enjoy a quiet moment overlooking the Marmaris. The location is outstanding, a very short walk from Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia.

The white Victorian decoration
The white Victorian decoration made the feeling of elegance and the hotel is clean. The breakfast is good. The location very near to Blue Mosque & St Sophia. The toilet has heater. The receptionist was not so friendly, not even ever smile to us and worked not so efficient, we have to wait very long at the lobby.

problèmes d'eau
Malheureusement mon séjour à été fortement affecté par un problème d'eau. C'été impossible de réguler la température de l'eau, qui changeait tous les quinze secondes allant du très froid a très chaud brûlant. Le problème a persisté tout au long de mon séjour, et j'ai compris que c’était un problème général de l’hôtel. Le petit déjeuner, correct mais sans plus. Essaye peut être d'autres hôtels dans le même coin, qui est très bien pour un premier séjour.

sejour Istambul
très bon accueil , personnel très à l'écoute et professionnel . Chambre très sympa et très propre seul hic la porte-fenêtre qui sortait de son rail lorsqu'on allait sur la petite terrasse mais la vue sur la mosquée bleue nous faisait vite oublier ce petit désagrément. idéalement situé, à deux pas de sainte Sophie et la mosquée bleue. J'y reviendrai avec plaisir surtout avec cette magnifique vue.

Tout est dans le coin Topkapi, Aya Sophia, la Mosquée bleue, les citernes, à 10mn à pied le grand Bazaar, 15mn la Mosquée de Souliman, le marché Egyptien.

hôtel décevant
réservation d'une standard room, en voyant les photos su rle site de l'hôtel ça a l'air très bien, arrivée dans la chambre : vue sur des ruines, train juste en dessous, odeur des cuisines de l'hôtel... Certaines chambres doivent être réservées pour les clients ayant booké vol + hôtel.

Tolle Lage...
Sehr tolles Personal..extrem freundlich...aber die Sauberkeit ist nicht so toll.....die Lage ist perfect...3Minuten von der blauen Mosche weg... Alles in allem ein gutes Hotel, nur an der Sauberkeit sollte man arbeiten!
