Old City hotel looks out on the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia
The design of the Armada Hotel's façade was based on period engravings of 16th century rowhouses. Armada Istanbul Old City Hotel sits just blocks from the Marmara Sea as well as historic city sights and public transportation, and provides leisure travelers with a convenient base for touring. Location lets it down!
This is a pretty decent hotel in the Sultanahmet area of Istanbul where most of the sights are. And whilst everything is within 10-15 minute walking distance, that walk is uphill on cobbled streets with little or no pavement. However, it does have wonderful views from the roof terrace (used for breakfast and dinner) and the rooms are of a reasonable size. The wi-fi frequently crashes but can be fixed by locating it on the ceiling of your particular corridor and unplugging and plugging it !

Short drive from hotel
Kumkapi district is full of fish restaurants and musicians playing in the streets. It has a unique atmosphere and is only a 5 minute taxi ride from the Armada Hotel. I would recommend the Kor Agop restaurant there for quality and price.

Authentic hotel in good location
Unlike most hotel chains, you get a sense of living in a hotel that is authentic to the culture. The hotel is comfortable and well run and the staff are helpful. The location is a short walk from most of the sights in the old part of Istanbul. The free wireless worked very well throughout the stay.

Rooms contain all the facilities
Rooms contain all the facilities that one requires and free wi-fi is a bonus. Breakfast was unusual but very nice. We had a evening meal on the terrace which was cooked and presented very nicely. Main comment is there price structure is to high

Nice Hotel
I liked this hotel very much. The rooms were spacious, clean and modern. The front staff not the most helpful nor friendly at times. Location is the Old City, but you must walk up a steep hill to see any of the sights, and during the summer when it is very hot, this is not so easy.

Very central location on the Bospherus,
Very central location on the Bospherus, staff were quite friendly and helpful, organised cabs, took care of luggage when we checked out. Although we only stayed the night, the experience was a pleasant one.

We have stayed at this hotel 4 times over the past ten years and it is indeed an excellent value. Great roof top terrace for an incredible breakfast with fairytale view of the blue mosque and the bosphorous included with the room rate.Central location just down the hill from the blue mosque and aya sophia. A true find!!!

very good value
The Armada is very well situated if you want to be in the old city and near some of the great sights. The hotel is clean, hasd a beautiful room top restaurant. Staff is friendly. All inm all it is a very good value.

Gutes Hotel für Istanbulbesuch
Insbesamt eine nette Atmosphäre. Guter Service, Exzellentes Frühstück in 1a Lage - Terrasse mit Blick auf Bosperus und Hagia Sofia/Blaue Moschee. Zimmer nach hinten etwas klein. Das Badezimmer ist nicht auf dem neuesten Stand.

Nous avions réservé 3 Chambres avec vue sur le Bosphore, nous étions au 1er étage, avec une vue sur le mur, derrière lequel est le Bosphore ! Dommage !!
