I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who expects anything like an experience at an American run establishment. Remember, this is Turkey and the customer is always right is not the mentality here. The Standard or Double rooms are small. They
are very basic. Really nothing in them but a bed a Table and a small TV (no English channels at all (No CNN or BBC in English). Out of 9 Nights there we had hot water for 3 days. The beds are like laying on a wooden board with a 1/2 inch padding on it. The breakfast offered is nothing special. There is nothing special to it, but it is tasty, and anything extra is charged to your room or you pay upfront. It is on the water and has lounge chairs on the "beach" but it really isn't a beach. Its just a 15 foot large grain sand. The swimming pool is very nice. This hotel is really for young people who don't plan on spending too much time in the room or the hotel. If your out and About in Gumbet and Bodrum, then you will be alright. If you can deal with mostly no hot water, and constant construction noise going on during the day. I assume the hotel is still under construction since there was constant noise of power tools raging during the day. Oh they don't give you any cups in the room or really anything. I mean the room when you first walk in is depressing, but you can make it your own once you spread your stuff out. Either plan on buying things for your room or bring it with you. In all, its location is not bad. Its not a far walk from downtown and the Mini Bus passes in front of the hotel every few minutes, so you can get around easy. Like I said, this hotel is for the young, and wont be bother by the lake of amenities.
Some of the staff speak English but don't plan on them helping much. They really are not helpful at all. Its like they have pre-written responses to all your questions because they know what you will ask. "No Hot Water in Room", response: "Technical Problems". This you hear a lot.
After all, it was a great holiday. People in town are very nice, the Dollar, Euro, and British Pound will carry you a long way here. Remember to bargain with people in town! Always Bargain! Sometimes you can't and you will know when you can't, but in most places always Bargain. Dont Pay 50 Lira for a pair or swimming shorts. Bargain and you will get it for 25 or 30 Lira.
This place is packet with good looking people. Its like the entire Turkish good looking people came to this city and all the Good looking Europeans come here. Not many Americans! Mostly German, Russian, Dutch, and British. Like I said the Euro and Dollar will carry you far here. It cheaper than Istanbul. Its like New York City compared to a small ocean side area. Bodrum is small. Not big at all which is part of the charm.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel because of the cost and if you willing to deal with the issues they are having during construction. I would not recommend this Hotel for anyone over 30. It just isn't a kick back place where you can just relax.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Get you money changed to Lira, Most places will happily accept the Dollar and Euro, but its best to have Lira. This way you wont have trouble with the exchange rate.
