Railay Bay Resort and Spa Krabi

Nice hotel, excellent location

This is a nice resort, however they should make it clear that you NEED TO CATCH A BOAT to get here. We caught taxi, then discovered a steep water taxi fare to get there. Also this means you are disconnected from Krabi town, needing a boat to get there. There are good tours offered of islands, cooking school, rainforest elephant trek, climbing, etc. However if you stay in resort all there is to do is poolside sitting, swimming on small beach, or having massage or eating. There is limited shops outside the resort. It was enjoyable, but probably better for family or couples not as interested in exploring thailand, as much as staying in resort. Overall I would not go back, but for the right person it could be good. Also it is expensive compared to equivalent resorts elsewhere in thailand, so I said it was bad value.

This is a beautiful, somewhat remote area of Thailand. We had just come from the hectic pace of Bangkok, so it was wonderful to just relax for a few days. The Railay Bay Resort and Spa is a nice place, although it could use some renovation. The breakfast was plentiful. Service at the restaurant is in need of someone to coordinate things. We were with some friends and our meals were often confused or served out of order (appetizers with the meal or someone getting their main course 15 minutes before the rest of us!). The staff was friendly and gracious. I would go there again.

This resort is getting a bit tired and dated and not too clean. There were plastic bottles and wrappers amongst the plants around our entrance to the room. It is such a good location but disappointing for the price. I selected the more expensive hotel expecting something special for the price. I would have done better to have chosen one of the less expensive options. I know where I'll stay on my next visit.

The location is very nice: most of the common facilities (restaurant, pool, spa) are on the West Railay beach, which is much better than the East Railay. The privacy cottages were very cool: private enough to walk around naked in the private yard and the interior is very spacious. No Wi-Fi or any other Internet access in the rooms, though, but the Wi-Fi in the restaurant is free for guests and works reasonably well.

Decisamente un buon albergo e per di più in posto da favola. Le stanze sono molto grandi ed arredate più che sufficientemente. Il caldo o è sopportabile o è mitigato da un buona macchina di climatizzazione con split esterno. Cambio giornaliero con 3 bottiglie d'acqua free in camera, phon, Tv e lettore Cd. Buona la colazione a buffet con diverse scelte; due discrete piscine, di cui una con vista sul mare (a bordo spiaggia). Note dolenti: non ci sono ombrelloni e bisogna conquistarsi un posto sotto alcune palme; si alternano giornate di vera pace allo schiamazzo dei bambini in piscina (ma questo dipende dagli ospiti...); qualche breve black out nell'erogazione dell'acqua, inavvertibile se si è n spiaggia o in piscina. Consiglio di richiedere il servizio di navetta dall'aeroporto per i bagagli in arrivo e partenza; poichè si arriva con i long boats si rischia la schiena: pagate e fate fare tutto a loro, è decisamente salutare!
