For the 700 baht deal we had during the low season , it was great value . This place has 14 bungalows next to the beach , we had a /c , hot water , tv , good location & the rooms have a hippy funky feel .

Cute and not too noisy
I missed my flights so came a day late. Room was not ready and I'm not fussy but after spending all day flying in from Chiang Mai I did not like having to wait in the heat for my room to be made up. Especially since they did not seem to be full. Room was cute, bed comfortable and I liked the outdoorsy bathroom/shower arrangement. Thanks for the mosquito coils. They had a lot of nice little touches. My only real issue is that I had one trip and one transfer arranged by hotel and neither was a good experience. I explored the island's cave which was rugged to get to but awesome (go early before it gets hot). I took maybe 2 hours to explore the island by scooter. I got a flat which I had to pay for and that is typical but roads on the island are rough. Rides and food cost a lot more than in Chiang Mai so that was a bit of a shocker. Last day I booked myself to go with Koh Lanta Divers to snorkel at Koh Haa. It was awesome. I saw all sorts of fish, sea snakes and even moray eels. I was also the only snorkel person on the trip. Very relaxed and a good overall experience. The staff also try to have activities. I attended the BBQ on the beach and that was kind of cool. You could pick your fish/meat of choice and they cooked it for you. Not bad with a nice cold beer.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Lots of diving and snorkeling tours available. I would stay away from any 4 Island tours as the coral is almost all dead, very few fish and over 30 people on the boat. No real instruction as to how to protect the coral, just your basic ride, drop off, etc. I'm sure there's hiking but the heat was too much for me to do anything but the cave.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Ancient Realm. It was somewhat located in an isolated area but I don't think that is unusal on Ko Lanta. The rooms were lovely and the staff very pleasant. I had not realized that Ko Lanta was so quiet in the off season which has its pros and cons. Renting a motorbike is a must. In regard to food at the Ancient Realm, breakfast was fine but lunch and dinner foods were very disappointing.

Entertainment tip:
Short drive from hotel
Entertainment for me was exploring the Island. I didn't find much to do other than that. The Island is very pretty but not the best of Thailand in my opinion. Rent a motorbike for one day and you can see most of what there is to see. If the party scene is your idea of entertainment I cannot comment. If you enjoy quite then Ko Lanta and the Ancient Realm is your place.

Sijainti oli aivan muuta kuin esitteessä
Esitteessä oli ,että hotelli sijaitsee 3,9 km Saladanista.Näin ei ollut vaan matkaa oli noin 25 km.Hotelli oli kuitenkin siisti ja henkilökunta ystävällinen.Mutta esitteiden tulisi vastata todellisuutta.Meiltä meni kaksi päivää hukkaan kun vaihdoimme hotellia lähemmäksi Saladania.Ja lisäksi kymmeniä euroja puhelinkuluihin.Ei voi olla tyytyväinen kun aikaa ja rahaa meni hukkaan.
