Oasis of calm in the city

Would recommend Mon, Nov 30, 2015
Five stars for this hotel. It is a beautiful boutique hotel which is large enough to give you everything you need but small enough to be intimate and you feel like you are at home. I was given a pool access room which was lovely. All rooms have a terrace or balcony with a day bed to lounge on. Good sized pool and the restaurant serves an excellent breakfast and the cocktails are great. A couple of policies really stand out at this hotel and make it just a bit special. Breakfast is served for an extended period in the morning so there is no rush to get it before the kitchen closes and they have a 24 hr check in/out policy which means you keep you room for as long as you need to on check out day. I had a 5pm airport transfer which in a normal hotel would have meant hanging around without a room for 5 hrs. As it was, I could shower and prepare for my depature at my leisure. It is a great policy and shows that the hotel really cares about its guests comfort. The location could not be better, on one of the main roads in Chaing Mai and a 15 min walk to the night bizarre. Even in the midst of the busy road, the hotel remained a serene and calm place to be. The staff were friendly, helpful, efficient and attentive. They went out of their way to assist me, I asked reception to call a Bangkok hotel to confirm my booking and they did it without any fuss - they also allowed me to use their computer to check in online for my flight home and printed off boarding passes which in some hotels involves complicated logins to business centre computers and paying for printing. The front of the hotel is striking and more than once I saw people on the street taking photos and coming in to ask if they could take photographs inside. I can't recommend this hotel enough. I stayed for 5 days and it was one of the most relaxing and easy hotel stays i have ever experienced.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days and we had a great time. The room was spacious and the hotel had plenty of amenities. They provide breakfast all day and they also allowed out to checkout late.

All part of the Thai experience

Would recommend Sat, Dec 21, 2013
Our stay at U Chaing Mai was a pleasure. The staff, in particular, was attentive without being overly so and every question or request was met with a prompt and smiling response. We were grateful for their assistance with booking our cooking class and our day it the elephant reserve as well as our restaurant dinner reservations, along with transportation to and from all outings. The hotel itself is attractive, very clean and a relaxing place to be after tiring days of adventure. If I went back to Chiang Mai I would stay at the same hotel.

Attractions

There is an excellent massage place right across the street from the hotel entrance. We had massages every day,

Beautiful Boutique hotel in Old Chiang Mai

Would recommend Fri, Apr 19, 2013
This incredible find is centrally located within the moats and ancient walls of Old Chiang Mai. The extremely helpful staff helped us with our trips to the Elephant Nature park, Basil Cooking School and the zipline tour, Flight of the Gibbon.

We will definitely stay here again

Would recommend Sat, Feb 16, 2013
This was exactly what we were looking for. Most importantly, the rooms were amazingly comfortable (great beds and showers), quiet, clean and safe, so we got a great rest every night. Secondly, the location was perfect, right in the middle of the old city, along a main street that takes you past tons of great food, many beautiful Buddhist temples, and good shopping in either direction from the hotel. Third, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, assisting us in booking some events and giving us good recommendations. And last, the pool and lounge area is comfortable and quiet, and gives you a great spot to relax if you just want to rest for a little while at some point.
