Dining

Restaurant
The restaurant offers a range or exotic Thai food cooked with "Rice bean oil" which is cholesterol free and high in vitamin E. They use only fresh, natural ingredients with no MSG added. Apart from our great concern toward the taste and ingredients added into Dishes, the environment is also one important aspect we pay serious intention to : the outdoor seats within refreshing atmosphere ofthe shady giant Yang tree by the pool as well as the indoor ones with cooling air-conditioners and soft music are available. It Offers a selection of fine cuisine featuring Thai and western-Open from 7:00 a.m. : 10 p.m.

Relaxing getaway

Would recommend Fri, Jan 8, 2016
Rimping Village is a tucked away in a quiet area only 5-10 minutes easy walk across the iron bridge to markets, restaurants and old town. The property itself is very basic but good value for the money you pay. We upgraded to deluxe rooms - my room was enormous (413) however the room my parents had was slightly smaller, particularly in the bathroom. We enquired about this and found out that 413 is the only deluxe room of this size and config- this is the one used for the photos on the website, it should be noted. Wifi was free and good signal, the property's own restaurant was open all day and cheap but good quality food- the free breakfast was really good, set out buffet style and most will find something they would like, I would've appreciated breakfast being available until 10.30am instead of 10am however. The staff are all friendly and accommodating. Probably the only disappointment was the pool area- it was a great area however overshadowed by an enormous tree. We were keen to lie by the pool and swim most days but the tree shade keeps the pool very cool to the point none of us were willing to get in, even on 30c+ days, and you do need to keep moving around on the sun loungers to get sun and keep out of the cool shade.

Mostly wonderful

Would recommend Thu, Nov 26, 2015
Mostly a wonderful stay. Left us with a great feeling - only wish we could have stayed longer (we were there for 5 days, partly business, partly tourist). People and facility were all terrific - we really felt well taken care of. Exceptional value for money. Only potential negative is the location - the hotel is a bit out of the way. Across the river from the old city, in an area that is less tourist-oriented. One positive was that we had a somewhat more authentic Chiang Mai experience than if we were garrisoned in some big resort. On our last night, we found ants climbing into bed with us - but, the nice folks in the office thanked us for letting them know and offered to take care of it asap. Given how great everything else was, this was only a minor annoyance that didn't detract from our overall great impression of Rimping Village.

Great Place to Stay

Would recommend Wed, May 13, 2015
The hotel was nice, it met all of my expectations. Not far from the Night Bizarre and the Mai Ping River. They had old bicycles that you can take out for a ride (no extra charges) which was very nice and a surprising highlight of the trip. The staff could not have been nicer and they spoke very good English. The breakfast was awesome and the pool was refreshing and scenic. I will stay here again when I come back to Chang Mai.

Excellent hotel, fab staff, quiet but close to all amenities

Would recommend Fri, Feb 13, 2015
Excellent hotel, the staff are brilliant, so helpful. A real bargain, tucked away from all the hustle and bustle. Rooms are cleaned every day. Breakfast was also good, plenty of choice. Would definitely stay again whilst visiting Chaing Mai.

Lovely Ri ping Village

Would recommend Mon, Feb 9, 2015
Spent nine wonderful days at Rimping. Lovely small hotel run by really friendly staff. Rooms are really comfortable and the breakfasts great laid back affairs. The only negative was the pool was very cold but it will probably warm up as the season progresses.

Best Chiang Mai stay in town!

Would recommend Thu, May 22, 2014
Awesome experience!! Staff was waiting for us at the airport with the van, limo type seating all the way to the hotel where our check-in staff took the time to designate points of interest on a map of town while our luggage was being delivered to our room. Family suite was spacious for our family of 4 (open living space, so no privacy for Mom & Dad), large tub and separate shower. Beds were hard, but not terrible compared to Asia standards. Complimentary WiFi was fast and complimentary breakfast buffet was outstanding. The entire complex was spotless and they had clean towels right next to every lounge chair by the pool. Beautiful surroundings and very close to the night bazaar. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, booked our elephant adventure and zip-lining tours and even arranged for an early breakfast both days since we left prior to the scheduled breakfast times. They gave us plenty of bottled water and extra towels for our tours. You'll never regret staying at this hotel and you're so close to everything that you can take a bike or walk to the grocery store, nail salon and multiple massage parlors to enjoy your time here. Only wish we had more time to hang out at this bargain hotel. The only difference between this 4-star resort and a 5-star resort is the extraordinary price. It's so cheap to enjoy everything here! If we can ever afford the airline tickets back to Thailand, we will definitely stay here again!! Just bring plenty of sunscreen and bug repellent and don't forget the sunglasses, it may be the mountainous jungle, but it's still a sunny area. If you want to do any shopping at all while you're in Thailand, hit the Sunday market. Absolutely the best prices you'll see and the most diverse and unique gifts/food/clothes you'll find. Many hand made crafts and awesome street food that will make you almost laugh when haggling for a better price. Fresh fruit smoothies, t-shirts, gifts, trinkets, fresh street food, and almost everything in-between could be found.

Wonderful staff especially Tommy who organised first class trips for us at reasonable cost. monks came to kitchen door every morning for gifts which was a humbling experience.well placed for city but away from bustle. Went to Golden triangle, boat trip and city tour to see temples and brilliant " monk chat" at one which is what it sounds like. Excellent experience tha can be warmly recommended

Better than home!

Would recommend Mon, Apr 16, 2012
This was our first of four hotel stays during our time in Thailand. We stayed here, then went to Phuket, and then to Ao Nang - this was the best place and I would come back here in a heartbeat. The staff are so very friendly, and the hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and beautiful. It is also very quiet which is amazing because it is so close to the busyness of Chiang Mai. Breakfast is included every morning, and includes delicious pastries, fresh fruit, and local favorites like fried rice, curry, along with the breakfast staples like pancakes, bacon, and the like. When we left Chiang Mai, we went to Phuket and stayed at the Westin which was beautiful, but lacked the friendly staff and charm of Rimping Village. This place is a great find!
