Dining

Saen Kham Terrace
Dine in a unique Thai restaurant. The concept of interior designer incorporated an elevated level on each side of the dining hall to create the feeling of dining on a terrace. All furniture is made of woven rattan and reminds guests of feel of the woven baskets that warm every Lanna terrace. Weaving loom components take on new roles as decorative accents on Saen Kham's walls. Every little thing here has its own story to tell. And together they make up the Saen Kham Terrace legend. Thai Vegetarian food and organic menu is available.

Far from everything....but that's not necessarily bad!

We loved the room! Huge! Spacious! Communication with staff was tough sometimes...we are native English speaking FYI. If you don't mind the 20minute 250baht cab ride (or taking the free once daily shuttle) to town, then this is a great place. If you are hoping for more leisurely walks to and from the sites...this is a bad place to stay.

a great find - we felt like the priviliged few

Tucked inside a gated community, this spa hotel was wonderful. I was a bit wary that the professional photos on their web site would be just reflective of one room but the whole hotel is just an architectural delight (Lanna style). Room 9 was very comfortable with 2 person wide jaccuzzi bath - just the ticket after a long flight - and very comfy bed. Bed in room 2 a bit hard. This was the best hotel we saw in Chiang Mai - so relaxing and a great find. It's a bit out of the city centre but only THB250 in a tuk-tuk. The terrace restaurant over the road was excellent.
