Rolled the dice ...
We needed a last minute place to stay due to travel complications and this place was in the right location for a good price. You never know what you're going to get for $30 in Thailand - sometimes something amazing and sometimes something awful. This was borderline awful. The room was loaded with Mosquitos, the bathroom light didn't work (and I couldn't get anyone to fix it), and it just felt like not a good safe place to stay. Perhaps I just drew all the short straws ...

guess here the review is so good, all based on price. to me, rather pay bit more to get a much nicer place.

Lai Thai is in a great location,
Lai Thai is in a great location, within easy walking distance of the Old Town,Thapae Gate and the famous Night Market. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a nice restaurant on-site and a small pool to chill out in at the end of the day. On the down side, my room was old and small, with noisy floors and a bit on the grubby side. The windows are slats which do not shut out noise very well. Having said that, for the price you can't go wrong with Lai Thai - it makes a great base for getting out and about in the Chiang Mai region. Highly recommended!

Location is quite good.
But
Location is quite good. But i would never go back to this "guest house" cause it's SO NOISY!! There is zero protection against noise and it's along the big road (square around old city)!! Except that you pay what you're waiting for, but the NOISE, too much!! Otherwise, nice hotel, many services like tour or bike rental.

A famouse guest house in Chiang
A famouse guest house in Chiang Mai, tidy and nice room but for the sake of price, facilities not so good. A little bit noisy at night, the travel agent in the guest house is more expensive than the travel agent only 3-minutes walk outside the guest house.
