Chiang Mai 3 day stay

The hotel is a modern hotel, slightly older, but compared to a Holiday inn stateside, about the same. The breakfast was good, nothing extra-ordinary. The place was clean. Mini-bar was cheap. The staff was friendly and the tour desk was very helpful with arranging all my tour needs. Tours in Chiang mai are cheap, $30 for all day elephant tour/treking/rafting/lunch included. The city shopping was like a death march, but the wife LOVED it, lol. The hotel price was fair, I place it in the mid range for what's available, about 80 bucks. Bath rooms need updating, a bit small, but served their purpose. Hotel is 3 blocks from Night Market bazaar and a 2 dollar ride to the famous Sunday night market, (5 miles of walking.....) Enjoy your trip

A good hotel

My girlfriend and I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights in November 2011. It's a good hotel located reasonably close to the old city (tuk tuk ~60 bht), night bazaar (10 min walking) and the river. The hotel is clean if a bit dated. The breakfast buffet is pretty good.

The Good View restaurant. Take a tuk tuk (80 bht). Good food, great location, very nice staff. (better than The Riverside restaurant next to it)

Nice Happy Hour

It was a nice hotel but they don't offer free wireless. The nice thing is they have a happy hour that lasts for a good amount of time and you can get any drinks for the happy hour and take them back to your room. We had a nice view and it was in a good location central to everything and a good price.

Beautiful hotel at a reasonable

Beautiful hotel at a reasonable price. Breakfast buffet provided a wide range of selection of delicious food. We returned to the hotel in the evening exhausted from a day of events, so we ordered room service which was very reasonable priced, served in less than an hours time and was very good.

Have stayed at Empress many times

Have stayed at Empress many times the past five years. Each year there are improvements. Now the basic rooms have new carpet and bathrooms. Great value. Cheaper on Asia Hotels than hotel web site. Easy booking, great stay. Excellent buffet breakfast.
