Ideally located for The Night Bazaar and Chiang Mai’s many attractions, it offers the traveler on a budget a comfortable place to rest.(11/06PS) A pleasant corner building, the ground-floor lobby is visible beneath the three tiers of rooms and their tastefully decorated windows.
The hotel is very conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the Night Bazaar, 10 minutes from the railway station and 15 minutes from the airport.
Downtown Inn Rooms
Compact in size, the rooms are modestly equipped, clean and comfortably furnished. The bathroom has a shower only, small but in good condition.

We stayed here along with the parents (in separate rooms). This hotel does not try to be a luxury hotel, but I do think it is a good value, with no hassles. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly and helpful (creating a positive
atmosphere). The location is between the night bazaar and the river - pretty good! (We love Chiang Mai, by the way...awesome city). The standard rooms are not too big, but we didn't feel cramped. The AC works OK, although the temperature scale seems a bit off. The free internet worked most of the time (except for one hour during a 4-day stay). The breakfast is about what you'd expect given the price of the hotel - edible with a decent selection of fruit and cereal and pancakes, etc. It's a bit better than your usual budget accommodation. I'd stay here again if the price is reasonable.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
The saturday and sunday markets are cool and offer more favorable prices than the night bazaar. Recommendations: try the fresh-squeezed orange juice, galamay (small wrapped fruit-flavored snack) and plain roti, then try everything else (many interesting and delicious foods).
