Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Green Mango is b lovely little cafe with the most amazing and cheap Pad Thai. It's on the street that heads into the old city through the Gate.

Good value but with flaws

This hotel is probably close to what you'd expect for the price. The rooms are clean enough and big enough. Not bad. The hotel looks good from the outside. The breakfast is also not too bad, with an egg station and several choices. The location is not ideal, but there is a great bakery nearby and many cheap food stalls at night (recommended), plus, of course, the big Saturday market. You'll probably want to take a taxi to the night bazaar. On the downside, the room was (as expected for the price) a bit worn out. Our toilet could barely flush (definitely do not put any tissue down there) - they said they were working on the problem, but it wasn't fixed during our 3-day stay. You can buy time on the wireless internet for a reasonable rate (for a hotel), but it wasn't very fast. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel to people who want to save money. Maybe book a few days and then look around for better options.
