Well-located Bangkok hotel with kitchenettes close to nightlife
Spacious serviced apartments at the Omni Tower Bangkok hotel put budget-minded guests in the heart of Sukhumvit. The Skytrain and nightlife are within walking distance meaning the Omni Tower Bangkok hotel is well placed. The studios and suites are tidy and simply decorated, many with views of the city below. An outdoor pool and fitness center provide an outlet for urban stresses, and in-room kitchenettes allow guests a degree of culinary autonomy. Near the hotel, guests find neighborhood eateries and shops.
Highlights
  • Economical accommodations for self-sufficient travelers
  • Near nightlife, local color and two Skytrain stations
  • All the basic amenities of a hotel without extraneous luxuries

Rooms
The Omni Tower Bangkok hotel features 111 studios and suites for short- and long-term residence. While apartments vary in style and proportion, all are outfitted with fully-equipped kitchenette, TV with satellite/cable channels, in-room broadband Internet access (fees apply) and in-room safe. One-bedroom deluxe apartments have two TVs and walk-in closet. The two-bedroom apartments have a king bed in one bedroom and two twin beds in the other. Guests seeking better city views consider booking a one-bedroom executive apartment on a higher floor.

Features
Although guests booking serviced apartments enjoy the autonomy afforded by an in-room kitchen, they might still desire certain hotel amenities. Unusual extras such as squash court and billiard tables give the hotel a quirky edge. The complimentary tuk-tuk service shuttles guests to the main road, but walking allows for discovering the local eateries and street vendors in the neighborhood. Two Skytrain stations, walkable from the Omni Tower Bangkok hotel, give deeper access into the vast city.

Awful

The rooms are awful, we had booked the Superior Studio - 1 king bed - 39 Sq.Meters with Kitchenette, Complimentary Internet Access. This room was worse than a 2star, the carpet had all sorts of staines, and the bathroom was horrible. After being in the room for 2 minutes, I went downstairs to upgrade - I hoped their was a decent enough room available. The photos were misleading, but I saw photos for a 1 bed apartment and asked if we could upgrade to that, thankfully there was 1 room available, we paid an extra 5000 bhat, but it was totally worth it. It was millions times better than the first room we entered. The apartment was big and had a seperate lounge, kitchen, bathroom, and walk in wardrobe. If you choose to stay here, please book the 1 or 2 bed apartment. The location was ok during the day, but at night it was awful, there was so many lady boys and girls out, and old foreign men. After 2 days we checked out and decided to stay at the Lebua State Hotel, this was a amazing hotel. If you plan to travel to Bangkok, I advise you stay at the Lebua State Hotel, as this is a top class hotel with amazing breakfast buffet and the sirocco resturant and sky bar.

Poor Value

Hotel is in a decent location but the hotel itself is very old. The furniture in the room looked like it was from the 1970s. The air conditioner was very noisy and you could hear a lot of noise coming from the staff in the halls. I for two or three dollars more you can get a much nicer, modern hotel. I would not stay here again.

"Don't you go there!" (Just trying to hook a brotha up!)

Excellent...if you are from North Korea or The Congo. Think Saigon, circa 1948. Bed bugs. Paper thin walls. No hot water. What's not to love? At least Bangkok is right outside. 24th trip to Thailand.

Arirang Korean BBQ near Soi 11/12. 10 minute walk on South side of Sukhumvit....staff is Koreans, Burmese, and Thai. Also, "The Bed Supper Club" on Soi 11 is about 10 minutes north of this trainwreck hotel. UFO-shaped techno bar full of attractive people nearly every night. 10 PM until LATE.

has seen better days

This is an old hotel and while it says "newly renovated" it needs much work - wallpaper peeling from the walls, water stains on the Roman shades, lamp shades, furniture scuffed and scratched, the cornice over the kitchen sink had separated from the ceiling and was rubbing against the doors as you opened the cabinets, cigarette burn on the tub, shutters that did not open, stains on the furniture. It is about 1 - 2 blocks from the "red light" district in Nana, 24 hour bars left drunks on the sidewalks, sewer smells from under the sidewalks, only a "coffee shop" type eating establishment available on the premises. The dinner cruise (International fare) only had about 5 minutes of Thai dancing which was the real reason we went - very disappointing!! The elephant ride was fantastic as was the canal boat ride - the temple tour was okay - lots of walking - be sure to wear shoes that are easily removed as you must go barefooted inside. Hotel also said there was a shuttle - there is not - emailed 3 days ahead to arrange for it and got no answer - expected to have the shuttle there at the airport but NO!! had to take an airport taxi for 1,000 bahts when a regular taxi would have only been 400 - hotel was not very pleasant when we called from the airport to inquire about the shuttle and told us to "take a taxi" - did not offer to send one or help us at all - not a good first impression of Bangkok or the hotel.

Originally I booked a qn kitchenette, carpet was dirty, walls paper thin. Water was leaking from ceiling in shower. 12am, Staff checked it the panel crumbled water poured out. I asked for discount, n rm chg I was told no other rms avail. Then I was upgraded that night to a rm 3x my price @3700 bhat a night, it was very nice, recently renovated. Only problem had bites on my ankles in morning. Staff were wonderful and apologized.

Ok for the money

I met with a personal friend whom lives and works in Bangkok. God bless her sole, she is Thai and when she came to visit me she was treated as a prostitute and was asked to provide an identification card and leave at the front desk until she completed her "services". This was totally unacceptable. She is an employee with the Thai government and was very embarrassed and so was I.

Good location good service

We were on vacation. We like the location, convenience, easy to all tranportation and shopping center. Something that we don't like is by the hall way isnot fresh air at the hall way ,the air need to be circulated. The carpet in the room should be changed or removed it will refresh the whole room. Should have 3 kinds of food for buffet breakfast. instead taking by each order, it is wasted the time. The restrooms in the robby need sanitation. We enjoy this trip as good as my last trip in 2 years ago.
