Well-located Bangkok hotel with kitchenettes close to nightlife

The Skytrain and nightlife are within walking distance meaning the Omni Tower Bangkok hotel is well placed. The studios and suites are tidy and simply decorated, many with views of the city below. An outdoor pool and fitness center provide an outlet for urban stresses, and in-room kitchenettes allow guests a degree of culinary autonomy. Near the hotel, guests find neighborhood eateries and shops.

Awful

The rooms are awful, we had booked the Superior Studio - 1 king bed - 39 Sq.Meters with Kitchenette, Complimentary Internet Access. This room was worse than a 2star, the carpet had all sorts of staines, and the bathroom was horrible. After being in the room for 2 minutes, I went downstairs to upgrade - I hoped their was a decent enough room available. The photos were misleading, but I saw photos for a 1 bed apartment and asked if we could upgrade to that, thankfully there was 1 room available, we paid an extra 5000 bhat, but it was totally worth it. It was millions times better than the first room we entered. The apartment was big and had a seperate lounge, kitchen, bathroom, and walk in wardrobe. If you choose to stay here, please book the 1 or 2 bed apartment. The location was ok during the day, but at night it was awful, there was so many lady boys and girls out, and old foreign men. After 2 days we checked out and decided to stay at the Lebua State Hotel, this was a amazing hotel. If you plan to travel to Bangkok, I advise you stay at the Lebua State Hotel, as this is a top class hotel with amazing breakfast buffet and the sirocco resturant and sky bar.

Central Location

Rooms are spacious, clean and include a kitchenette. Friendly staff. The breakfast included in the price of the room is simple, served out of a small kitchen but served our purpose. If you are expecting a buffet breakfast you are at the wrong hotel. The location is great. It is in walking distance of the sky train and many great restaurants. We enjoyed our stay.

Good Location

The Omni Tower Bangkok is a good hotel with a good staff. The Omni is located in a good location within walking distance to restaurants, nightlife, entertainment, and shopping areas. The Omni rooms are very large so any guest would have plenty of space. The tours given from the Omni were very good.

Omni Bangkok's Best Value

Centrally located on Soi 4, within less than 2 minutes walk from Sukhumvit and with another 2 minutes to Nana BTS Station, one can always flag a motor scooter for such short distances. Condotel was the perfect arrangement for one week business meeting. Breakfast was decent, but not buffet and had to pick up voucher and order daily. Although complementary internet service and tuktuk service were not offered as advertised.

The local street food and sit down establishments while predominantly Thai, also offered variety of international food within walking distance. Vibrant night life and shopping are also within walking distance.

has seen better days

This is an old hotel and while it says "newly renovated" it needs much work - wallpaper peeling from the walls, water stains on the Roman shades, lamp shades, furniture scuffed and scratched, the cornice over the kitchen sink had separated from the ceiling and was rubbing against the doors as you opened the cabinets, cigarette burn on the tub, shutters that did not open, stains on the furniture. It is about 1 - 2 blocks from the "red light" district in Nana, 24 hour bars left drunks on the sidewalks, sewer smells from under the sidewalks, only a "coffee shop" type eating establishment available on the premises. The dinner cruise (International fare) only had about 5 minutes of Thai dancing which was the real reason we went - very disappointing!! The elephant ride was fantastic as was the canal boat ride - the temple tour was okay - lots of walking - be sure to wear shoes that are easily removed as you must go barefooted inside. Hotel also said there was a shuttle - there is not - emailed 3 days ahead to arrange for it and got no answer - expected to have the shuttle there at the airport but NO!! had to take an airport taxi for 1,000 bahts when a regular taxi would have only been 400 - hotel was not very pleasant when we called from the airport to inquire about the shuttle and told us to "take a taxi" - did not offer to send one or help us at all - not a good first impression of Bangkok or the hotel.
