Great hotel, Great location, Great price

Found Adelphi Suites on a travel review website and am so very pleased that we stayed here. It is a beautiful little boutique hotel with very nice elegant and aesthetically pleasing rooms (which include not only a mini kitchen and plenty of closet and cupboard space for clothes but which also includes incredible views of the city from HUGE picture windows in each room). Bed was comfy (thought it would be too hard but was actually perfect). There is a great little rooftop pool, not big enough for doing laps but big enough to relax and stay cool in and a good gym (2 of each of the cardio machines, weights, and machines) as well. The internet service in the room was off and on - though the lobby internet (and 2 computers supplied) always worked. The location is great - you are 1/2 block from the skytrain which makes it super easy to get just about everywhere for very cheap! Also tons of street vendors selling food outside - the very best food in Thailand!!! At least 4 massage parlors within 1/2 block charging only about $10 for an hour long Thail massage. Got free breakfast with our package - it was definitely a variety of dishes (including traditional thai foods of course) and an egg station. Side note: Our only complaint was not with the place but with the "concierge" who said he could save us money on a tour of the Floating Market. The concierge said he'd arrange a cab for us and we could pay a flat rate for this. The cab fare was reasonable ($50) BUT the driver took us to a "special" fleece the tourists section - they wanted to charge us $100 for the boat ride through the floating market (if you are taken to the correct main area of the floating market it is only about $15 per person for the boat ride). We said no and asked to be taken to the main area and the cab driver suddenly did not seem to understand us and told us he would get us a "discount" so we "only" had to pay $70. We were pretty livid and later complained to the concierge about this out of the way area we were taken to specifically to be overcharged and his reaction made it very clear that he was in on the whole thing (and getting a cut of the cash). SO avoid any and all tours through this place, but everything else is perfect here!!!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

#1. ALWAYS ask the taxi driver to turn on his meter (especially from airport!) and do NOT negotiate a flat rate - you'll always pay more for flat rate. #2. Eat the street food from the carts - it's the best tasting Thai food (and cheapest food) you will ever have - ate it for 3 weeks and never got sick. #3. Get a 250 BHT massage (about $9 American) and try the Thai massage!

Very pleasant experience

The Adelphi was great. Quiet, clean, very convenient. Staff was gracious. Wifi throughout. Cute lap pool on the roof. The hotel restaurant is good, and the included breakfast was very good. Room was furnished with a full sized fridge and a small cook-top, but why eat in when your in BKK. Just a few steps up the street is a fantastic restaurant in an old Thai house. I hope to return and stay at the Adelphi and dine at Kinnaree. I went to BKK this time to visit friends, get a medical check-up and have some shirts made.

The Adelphi Suites are GREAT!

We loved the Adelphi suites. Unfortunately, we were only able to stay there for one night; but our stay there made our last night in Bangkok that much more memorable! The staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped us with our luggage and gave us a cool face towel and a cup of tea at the check-in counter --great for freshening up from all the humidity outside. They also allowed to get a late checkout without a charge. The room itself was large and spacious and was comprised of a living room/kitchen area which led into a separate, comfortable bedroom and bathroom. What we loved best were the unexpected touches plus the rainfall shower head and soaking tub!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

The hotel is in a great location because it's close to a 7-eleven, many restaurants and is a short walk to the Nana MRT station (takes about 3 to 5 min). The MRT is a perfect form of transport for seeing the city without being stuck in Bangkok's notorious traffic in a taxi. Travelers should also stop at the Siam Station to get to Paragon Mall and visit the basement floor food court. A wide range of food as far as the eye can see and helpful for keeping within your food budget!

Excellent stay conveniently situated close to everything

This hotel is excellent value for money, the room was spacious and had everything you needed. 2 min walk to Skytrain an excellent hotel restaurant on site would highly recommend eating in here food was delicious and good value. Close to a few local friendly bars which are not full of your local ladies. My only recommendation would be to put a mirror above the dresser for ladies to straighten their hair.
